I am just so bored these days.

There's really not much to do in my town, and I'm stuck here for another month and a half. Right now I just want to make sure I don't die of boredom before I get to move.

It's too hot to go for bike rides. Swimming is too far (I don't have a car, I'd have to walk for 20 minutes in the heat to get to a pool).
I've been watching movies a lot but I'm kind of tired of doing that.

I work during the day but it's really mind-numbing work. It doesn't keep me from being bored, it just forces me to be bored at a particular place for 7 hours a day.

There's only one movie theatre in town and they rarely play anything good. There's a shopping mall but I hate shopping. Most of my friends are out of town for the summer.
I need to get out of my apartment more. I just don't really have anywhere else to go...

any suggestions?
what do you do when you're bored?

I don't do anything very exciting when I'm bored, I read, or do some crocheting. Or hang out on the computer at TCS (but I don't have to be bored for that one!

I am NEVER bored but I recommend volunteering at your hospital (if it is like hours, there is a waiting list for volunteers, lol), or volunteering at a cat shelter or animal shelter. Or reading or writing or drawing if you are a solitary kind of person and hate the "politics" of any organiztion, even as a volunteer. How about volunteering in your children's events? Coaching something? Politics? Designing a web site. Take a course - computer course, first aid, CPR (you may save a life!), literature. Or teach something you know!

I can think of endless things to do but not enuf time to them all.

Well, how about learning a new language? or taking a new hobby?
When I start getting bored I pick up where I left off in trying to learn Japanese.

How about clearing out the junk in the basement? I did that once and found an old family album. I spent a whole afternoon reminiscing (sp?) the past

You might try visiting someone who doesn't have many friends, such as a disabled person, or a new neighbor, or maybe make friends with a young mom & go with her when she takes her kids somewhere, so she has some adult company. There are so many lonely people in this world, and so many people that would visit them & do things with them, if they knew. I feel for you, though! When I lived in Bakersfield, I was hard put to amuse myself. I even took to identifying bugs, and watching trains, trying to figure out their cargo (it had to be free, I had kids to support), but in the end it was fun! I hope you find your niche! Please let us know what ideas you come up with - it might be something I'd enjoy too!

Why not do what I did when I was stuck home alone in the summer - ride your bike to the pool!!! It was 4 miles from my house to the pool, took about 30 minutes, and I got to cool off in the water for three hours or so when I got there. I got exercise and sunshine, and I wasn't home being bored all day.

(of course, my dad came and picked up me and my bike when he got off work, but I had a great time and I was in the best shape of my life!!)

That particular summer is - I did that when I was in middle school (6-8th grades) and my parents were still married.
Summer is very much still in full swing here, but I have a hot tub and sprinklers on premises now!!

I will start riding my bike again, just waiting for this heat wave to be over! With the humidity, it's been around 40C every day for about two weeks. It's too hot to do ANYTHING that isn't air conditioned or that doesn't involve sitting in front of a fan.

For now I think I'll dig up some of my computer games.

I like to read, research things I've always been curious about on the net,and cross stitch.
I agree with the other posters about volunteering somewhere or learning a new language. Those are really good ideas to cure boredom.

i live in a tiny town with no people my age and absolutely nothing to do, no malls, or anything except red dirt.

i have another year to go and i get bored a lot, i usually paint, read or draw, do something crafty, get on TCS or cut out recipes to put in my scrapbook, experiment on new recipes
or take photo's and edit them in psp.

i'm buying a vinyl cutting machine next week and am going to start my own bumber sticker business from home so i'm hoping that will give me something else to do.

i have to make my own fun because of the lack of anything in this town, i make do whereever i am but i miss my family and friends
