My oldest cat, Kitty, had what we thought was a seizure last night and again today..the vet says maybe he passed out or something but that it doesnt sound like a real seizure. They did some bloodwork and we will find out for sure next week. Please keep him in your prayers..thank you!

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.
I hope Kitty is feeling better. Let us know what the vet says.
Our prayers are with you and Kitty.

Prayers are on the way. I will also ask my greyhound board to pray for you baby. Whenever I ask them for prayers it works.

We had the same problem when Jez first started on Fluconazole. Her internist advised us to put her on Tender Vittles and that helped her loose-poop problem. I have no clue why it worked; I just know that it did. Good luck.

The vet just called back and said to give him some "pumpkin pie" filling...hmmmm he said that it is high in fiber and it should harden him up. Anyone ever heard of this before?

Yes, I was just about to suggest it. We always keep it in the house and it's very good for this situation. Believe me not only do I swear by it but the entire retired racing greyhound board does. I think all of my grey friends have a couple of cans in the house so nobody ever is without in case of an emergency situation. Heck, when the greys go with me to a greyhound gathering, I alway have a can or 2 just in case.

Thanks Frannie! I appreciate hearing it from someone else. I just sent my husband to the store after some, and I suppose we will keep it on hand just in case. Thanks again!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to update you on the cat situation. My "seizure" kitty has not had any other loose stools, nor any seizures. He is, however, showing symptoms of the cold that my Terrell and Archie have. They are all behaving normally, playing and attacking each other. I so much appreciate the prayers. Now the only obstacle is finding out what we will do with Seminole. We have come to the conclusion that we can't possibly afford all 5 cats...since he is the stray we acquired in Dec., we have decided to find a home for him. One of my friends seems interested. I feel absolutely terrible about it...keep it in your prayers. Thank you all so much.

I am so glad your kitty is better.

If I may ask, what are the signs of a kitty seizure?

Val, the vet said that my baby didnt quite have a seizure- he did say however, that the symptoms are: stiffening, eyes roll back in the head, sometimes loss of body functions, foaming at the mouth..everything you think of a people seizure- however, it should last 3-5 minutes. That would be forever!!

Everyone- just wanted to let you know that I talked to the vet today. The blood tests showed that my baby is doing great for his age. I proposed to the vet that since Kit is only "fainting/seizuring" when trying to hairball that perhaps it is because he isnt breathing. He agreed and said the only remaining tests are an xray and ekg, however, he doesnt think the heart is the problem. Now if I can get rid of this eye cold in 3 of my babies I will be ok. Thanks for all of your support and prayers. I hope he stays strong.
