Has anyone heard back from Rigel??

Looking at the satellite pix (real-time, if you look at these after dark, you won't be able to see anything) I suspect that Rigel is already getting some wind and rain off of this.

It may be a while ...

I'm adding my prayers that Rigel and his family and Sarah's family all stay safe. I'm not positive, but I believe my mother's god-daughter and her family are in Mexico this week too.

...HURRICANE EMILY BEARING DOWN ON THE YUCATAN PENINSULA...

AT 8 PM EDT...0000Z...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE EMILY WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 19.6 NORTH...LONGITUDE 85.9 WEST OR ABOUT 90 MILES...
145 KM...SOUTHEAST OF COZUMEL MEXICO AND ABOUT 270 MILES... 440
KM...EAST-SOUTHEAST OF PROGRESO MEXICO.

REPEATING THE 8 PM EDT POSITION...19.6 N... 85.9 W. MOVEMENT
TOWARD...WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 20 MPH. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED
WINDS...135 MPH. MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE... 951 MB.
She's shifted a bit north. I'm not sure how this affects hurricanes this far south and coming from that direction; up here, if you're to the WEST (left) of the storm, you've got it a bit better. Up here, on the EAST (right) side of the storm, you can expect more wind and rain and more numerous spin-off tornadoes. Here's hoping it means the same down there, although of course given my druthers I'd rather no one had to deal with any of these

Oh, yeah! I'm glad to see that Merida was mentioned, but as big as these storms get, I'm sure he is feeling the effects.

It looks like the storm has lost some punch like predicted winds in Merida are now around 50 - 70 mph, 80 - 110 KPh. With of course heavt rain. It looks like the eye did pass right ofer Merdia
