Is anyone else being "forced" to line up at midnight to purchase the book for one of their kids, or possibly themselves
???
I am
But I really don't mind it. We are getting my fiance's son tonight for his last week of summer vacation and I am planning to take him to Books A Million to line up for the book. They are having a party beginning at 9:00pm and lasting until 12:01am when the book goes on sale. I thought this would be exciting for him to be able to do. I just called Books A Million to make sure you didn't have to preorder the book in order to pick one up. They said you don't have to but they recommended coming to the store to pick up a voucher early today. Those with vouchers are guaranteed a book tonight. I wasn't going to do that since I am stuck at work, but she said there were people lined up when they opened for them! So, I called my wonderful Grandmother and asked her is she minded going to pick one up for us. I can not believe the eagerness to have this book tonight. Wow! But, at least it is getting the kids to read.

We pre-ordered it- I heard somewhere that it is the first book in history to sell more copies prior to releasing it- I can't wait to read it. Her imagination is staggering!

Yeah, mine is ordered from Amazon and is supposed to be here in tomorrow's mail. I'm staying OFF the internet tomorrow (so y'all will know why I'm not here
) as I know that there are going to be folks that get them at 12:01 and then go home immediately and read them and THEN plaster it all over the internet. I prefer going in cold as it were.

I'm not overly eager to get this next one, as I was a tad disappointed in the last one. Harry turned into a not very likeable bratty teenager in the last book, hope he's turned a bit better in this one or I'll start cheering for Voldemort!

I'm planning on picking it up tomorrow morning. I'm a fan but not that big of a fan!

A local city transforms into "the world of Harry Potter" for the releases of the books

A girl who works across the hall from me invited me to join her and her friends in Penninsula, but I'm planning on getting a good night's sleep before settling in for a long read this weekend.

As I figure it, he was 15 and was being left out of the loop about his own life. I would of disliked Harry if he wasn't using the CAPSLOCK OF RAGE.

I was actually glad to see him acting as a real teenager. Considering everything he's been through, I'm surprised he's not more angry and bratty. I will be at Border's tonight, DH has agreed to come along, although he hasn't read any of the books. He knows it's something I've been looking forward to.

I still pre-ordered the next book anyways. I know I'm going to be disapointed, but curiosity got the best of me.

One of the local pharmacies here is getting several copies and will sell them for 40% off - and a friend owns the pharmacy so he will save me one. No standing in line but it is Saturday and I will be there as soon as the store opens just to be on the safe side!!! Otherwise, I'd have preordered!

And yep, Harry became a little bratty last time but hey, I work with kids every day and that is sooo normal, lol We would not want Harry to be atypical - besides his Wizard status I mean.

Well my excuse is that I have to keep up with my patients, lol (And I love the series - it is quite a satirical view of society read from an adult perspective. And read from a juvenile perspective - and there are days I think being a grown up is not all it's cracked up to be
- it is just fun!!

I pre-ordered the book from Amazon, and it had better be delivered tomorrow, because I've "cleared my desk" for the weekend, and will be extremely disappointed if I have to wait until Monday. Of course, if it doesn't arrive tomorrow, I won't have to pay for my copy! It's unbelievable: amazon.de has received 110,000 pre-orders of the book. Apparently an awful lot of Germans don't want to wait until October, when the German version will be released.

I have it preordered as well. Is it true that if it doesnt arrive on time, its free??? I got an email saying that it will arrive at 7pm tomorrow night - problem is, I use a PO box and not a physical address. Poo, I probably wont get mine til Monday if thats the case.

And I am NOT going to read any HP threads after tomorrow because I am saving the book for my flight home, because I will need something to read!!!!
