I live in Virginia and I am looking at purchasing a bengwl cat but I never see any advertised any where. Is there are reason for that? Can someone tell me a little about the cat. i love how they like like a wild cat. I saw pictures of a tan and brown one I just loved. Any advice woulkd be helpful. I have two siamese and I also worry they will not get along. Also what are the price ranges for a cat like that?

This is my 10 month old Bengal-Bullit. Bengals are very social and he gets along fine with my ragdoll cat. They love to play and love to climb. No shelves here with breakables
A lot of them like water, some will even join you in the bath or shower. Bullit likes to play in bathroom sink.

Wow they sound like really great cats. Likes water
I wouldn't mind taking a bath with my kitties. Bullit is very, very pretty. Looking at him he looks like he is a pretty big cat. I love cats all kinds but I am wanting a cat that has different traits. I have had of coarse strays and and I have two siamese that are inside cats. I just want something different. I have never seen or heard of a bengel or munchkin until I got online here. Bullits colors are what color cat I am looking at wanting. I saw a picture online of one like him grown up and he was so lovely.

He is 12 lbs now. I think he will get up to 15 lbs. The males can get up to 20 lbs and the females are much smaller with a average of 8 to 10 lbs. Bengals come in many colors

Though I NEVER wish misfortune on any human or animal, a genetic fluke in a local Bengal breeding line gave me my new TWO purebred boys free. I appreciate all the links to Bengal sites because I don't know a lot about them yet.

These two are full brothers, 3 litters apart, have some sort of neurological abnormality much like a mild case of Cerebral Hypoplasia. Takai, who was born 2-18-04, has weakness in his hindquarters and tremors, while little Bengie, born 4-17-05, only has mild ear tremors so far.

Takai's problems weren't noted until his parents had been bred again, and there were no problems in their next 3 litters. In Bengie's litter, however, both males showed the same signs as Takai. The breeder immediately altered both "parents", and gave away Bengie's brother. She was able to sell his two sisters as "pets" AFTER they were spayed. I was lucky enough to get Bengie AND Takai.

I still don't know how to post pictures, but I'll share these boys when I do. They are absolutely Gorgeous, both silvers, and immediately fit into the rest of our Special Needs family. We couldn't love them more.

I have a Bengal, Simba in my siggy and I have two Siamese cats as well. My Bengal is EXTREMELY high energy. He's naughty, but in such a cute way, it's hard to get mad at him. Yes, he climbs, climbs and climbs. He plays fetch and plays in water. Once he got in the tub with me, but since I had bubble bath in it, I quickley got him out. He's A LOT more active than my Siamese cats, but my little girl SunLee does enjoy playing with him, until he gets too rough for her. Bengals have some unusal sounds that are really different from the average cat. In the two years that I've had Simba, I've gotten to know pretty much what each sound means, for example when he makes this one kind of chirpping sound, he is usually getting into michief. I don't even have to look up, I just say "No, Simba."

I know a few people on a different cat forum who have been refused a rescue bengal because they have 'moggies' and the bengal rescues say that bengals shouldnt be placed with other breeds of cats - what do you all think (am only asking cos i noticed someone has a siamese too)

Simba and Sunlee get along fine. They play with each other, until Simba gets a little too rough for her, but she gets away from him. She's very agile. Shane and Simba have problems, because Shane is overweight and doesn't want to move. When Simba tries to play with him, Shane gets angry. Usually, I have to play a few rounds of fetch with Simba to help him use up some of his energy. I don't see why you can't have Bengals with other breeds of cats. I have seen breeders who breed Bengal's and Siamese. On the whole I think they're a good match together. However, I can tell you, that my Siamese cat Shane used to absolutely hate my little Rainbow Bridge Persian. I could never get him to be nice to that poor sweet little boy.

I think it's a bunch of bull poo poo. I could understand it if they had said the Bengal needed to be an only cat as it didn't like other cats, but targetting the fact that it was because the other cats weren't the same breed? Nah. We have two Bengals and one Moggie, Chaos(moggie) is very affectionate with both of the cats, Kharma(Bengal Kitten) is affectionate with everybody, and Envy(adult Bengal) just tolerates Kharma and Chaos, she used to like Chaos a lot more but when we got Kharma Chaos was nice to her and Envy seemed a bit irritated by that, so now she just tolerates Chaos.

I also disagree with those rescues that think only those who have experience wih Bengals should be allowed to adopt them. Unless they are talking about f-1's or maybe F-2's I just don't see the point in that.

That happened to me. I saw a beautiful purebred pedigree Bengal at Petfinders here in Los Angeles. I wanted to adopt him. They asked me if I'd ever had a Bengal before, and I said "No," and they refused to even consider me. So, I went out and bought Simba. I paid about 3 times more for him than I would have from the Petfinders rescue, but I'm glad I bought him as a kitten.
