As many of you know, Alley Cat Allies has an extensive network of people
just like you who work with feral cats in a variety of capacities - but
we know there are more of you out there than what we have listed so I
wanted to take this chance to ask that you all consider signing up for
our Feral Friend Network.

It is quick, easy, and means NO MORE WORK FOR YOU - ONLY MORE HELP FOR
THE KITTIES:-) Just go to:
http://www.alleycat.org/feral_friends_app.cfm and fill out the form.
From there, you are entered into our files and we put a dot on our
interactive map for you. When someone calls who needs help in your
area, and we think you can help them, we connect you.

Helping feral cats starts at the grassroots. ACA gets hundreds of calls
each year from all across the country - but we can't help everyone and
their cats without your help. Please sign up today - it only takes a
few minutes.

If you have a vet that you work with who is feral-friendly, let us know
and ask him/her to become a Feral Friend as well. To download the vet
application go to: http://www.alleycat.org/pdf/ic_ffn_v_form.pdf.

If you are already a Feral Friend and have moved or changed your contact
information since you signed up, please update it with us by filling out
this form: http://www.alleycat.org/feral_friends_app_update.cfm.

By working together, we can find the humane solution.

I have gotten their newsletter for the past couple years. I wish they would urge people to go to the cities where there are thousands of homeless cats and dogs living on the streets and around the housing projects and alleys in the inner city, that need help. There is alot of abuse that happens to the animals there and they need to be relocated. I've been going in to the city to feed and rescue the strays for the past twelve years. Even some of the police have asked us before about why don't more of the rescue groups help the strays in the city. Maybe I'll write to Alley Cat Allies and suggest that they put this on the Feral Network section for a suggestion.

Sometimes it takes one dedicated person to get the wheels moving in the right direction.
After all Alley Cat Allies was started by just one person years and years ago-

Good points. There should be alot of people on the pet forums who should be willing to volunteer . The strays in the cities especially need help and many of them are frightened little guys.

DC Cat developed out of the need for a more organized plan to help strays/ferals in DC.
