I adopted a Kitten 6 week ago, and when I brought him home I noticed his ears were very dirty, black/brown waxy stuff, like earmites. So, since then i have been trying to clear them naturaly, olive oil, yellow dock, things like that. Well, his ears still becoming super dirty after 6 weeks of this. Now to symptoms, besides dirt in ear, he does not scratch or shake his head. Doesnt seem to bother him at all. His ears are not red, inflammated, bleeding, etc..none of the usual signs of ear trouble. And, my older cant had been in contact with the little one every day, and he has not developed any symptoms, no dirt, nothing. So, I starting to doubt its ear mites.

Don't use any home remedies.

He needs to go to the vet and get checked out. They don't have to have red, inflammed or bleeding ears to have earmites.

no, not for that problem... when i first got her, i took her in for a check-up, i asked him to show me how to clean out her ears without hurting her(which they looked just like you described) and he reached in and cleaned them out, he didnt say it looked like anything in particular...

i just assumed all was well, i have to clean them out so often though, i figured that was not normal..

she is going back to the vet next week for something else, i will mention it to him when i go it

here and sara are constantly with each other and sara doesnt have a spec of dirt or wax in her ears

Maybe your kitty has a yeast infection in his ears. I thought my cat had earmites but it turned out to be a yeast infection. It looked exactly like mites to me.
