not a cat tale but a dog story,we took our dog to the beach today it was his first visit and he loved it he was digging n playing in the sand, swimming when he was hot,he had a great time,we then took him for a walk (on the lead) when we met up with another dog owner who had a large whit boxer dog, asked if he was friendly(as ben adores other dogs) and the owner said oh yes he loves playing,so i approached the dog and the boxer promptly attacked ben bit him on the nose and mouth wouldnt let go,poor ben was yelping n crying, hes got a large cut on his nose and its swollen i guess another trip to the vets this week
but what annoyed me was the owner couldnt control the dog he was an old man with a powerful dog.
what if a child with a small dog had come along dont bear to think about.
rant over.

Just as a warning you should let your dog near strange dogs. You never really know how they are going to act, even if the owner says they are nice. And what's most important, you don't know their history. Do you know if this dog is vaccinated?

Never allow your dog or puppy near a strange dog or another puppy unless it is at a puppy obedience class- some owners are so out of touch with their dogs they wouldn't have a clue what the dog will do in a strange setting- You were fortunate it wasn't worse-
