Well after my hair salon appt I went grocery shopping and of course I was really hungry by that time and bought all sorts of stuff I didn't really need to buy.

But what lurks in your cupboard or refrigerator that people would be surprised you buy.

For me-the one of the grocery stores I shop at is HUGH!!!!
I was there only 40 minutes- using a list and didn't go though at least half of the aisles. But if you can't find it there-you can't find it anywhere.

They started carring "Quisp" cereal- a baby boomer oldie... Lots of sugar and I don't buy pre-sweetened cereal as a rule. But I buy 2 boxes at a time and have to hide one or DH will hog the whole thing.

The other purchase was a new product my the makers of Tombstone pizza (made in Wisconsin!) THey now make pizza rolls. They have tons of calories and most likely no nutritional value-but very YUMMY

So whats hidden in your cupboards?????????????

Hmmmm...I'll have to go scope the cupboard out for this one as I can't think of anything offhand!

ok! I REALLY had to search for something because pretty much everything in my kitchen is typical. However, the least nutritional and most caloric thing I've got is belgian waffle mix. I ALWAYS keep a box of it or the kind with chocolate chips or blueberries in my pantry! So there we go!

Next!

My kitchen cupboards and fridge freezer resemble the sahara desert atm.... I have not been shopping for so long that there is hardly anything edible in the flat

I can give you a list of exactly what I have:

Fridge:
Butter
Milk
Mini baby bell cheese
Bottle of pimms
3 cans of Guinness
3 bottles of wine
Carton of apple juice

Freezer:
Ice cubes
Frozen veggies

Larder:
Penne pasta
Supernoodels
Special K cereal
Honey
Salt

I can confirm that Guinness has more food than I do... he has 2 selctions boxes of 24 felix pouches as well as a massive bag of Purina dry food - lucky boy!

Don't all rush round for dinner hey?

For me, it could taste very slightly like Dr Pepper but it's not exactly the same... but, the Pimms site says:

Pimm's is a gin-based drink, infused with aromatics and mixed with lemonade for consumption

So
it's hard to describe really.

I suggest that you try some when you are next out! Or they sell ready mixed cans of Pimms & Lemonade in ASDA...

Boxed mac and cheese. My made-from-scratch mac and cheese is so much better, but sometimes I crave the toxic fake bright orange cheesy kind.

Must stock on on ginger ale. I think of someone likes iced tea they will like Pimm but I know not many in the UK drink iced tea. Pimms has a pretty low alcohol content so you can have more than one!!

Gilly,
I love how you have more varieties of liquor than food in your fridge!

Maybe not rushing over for dinner, but drinks sure!!!

When I am feeling cravings and go to the grocery store hungry, I always come home with lots of appetizery like food like pickled everything: mushrooms, onions (I love the homemade english ones better...
), asparagus etc..
I also buy canned oysters and good cheeses like brie and camembert.

Then I get home and I think: what the heck am I going to make for dinner?

Yes, as all of you, the kits always have their good stock on hand but never me..
