I just had Destiny spayed and I have been keeping her seperated from my boys. How long should I keep her seperated. She seems to be doing fine and wants to play with the boys. I hate keeping them serperated the boys know she's home, and they lay by the door and meow at each other. My vet said a day or two seperation should be fine. I brought her home Friday 7-8. And let her out with the boys last night and the play I think was a bit hard on her they out weigh her by 7 pounds. Should I keep her seperated a bit longer? Any advise would helpful.

She's been home for three full days, then, correct? And the vet said two days, so I think it's OK to let them back together. I think if it was me, I'd probably intervene, though, if play got too rough, for another couple days. I'm just a little more cautious after surgery, I guess.

Hi. And thanks for the input. I think that is my problem been a long time since I had to deal with surgery and I don't want to baby her too much, but don't want her to get hurt either. I am going to let her out with the boys and keep a good eye on them don't want them to pouce on her too much. Thanks again.

thanks for posting this! My vet didn't tell me about having to keep them separated. I just took Rambo in this morning to get neutered and Lucky is waiting impatiently for his return. I'm a little worried that she might be a little too rough on him....but they don't take being separated very well.

You might ask your vet about it when you pick him up, but for neutering, I don't think it'll be necessary to separate him. It's pretty minor surgery.

Hi Renny, I ask because my males are so much larger than my female and they play all the time and the boys get a bit rough, so I was worried about her. I am glad it help to see the replys.
