ANOTHER UPDATE....

I talked to my dad this morning on the phone. They removed the breathing tube but he still couldn't talk really well. I just told him that all of you are sending him good vibes. I think he said "oh, thank you"

My mom said that his color is a little better today. But ya know I guess after losing a little more than half of his bodies blood (5 pints) anyone would be a little colorless.

Mom hasn't told him yet about the chance of him maybe never walking again.

We have been through alot. And I know we can get through this. TOGETHER.

I'm sorry I missed this thread until now. Prayers that your Poppybear recovers quickly. Those infections can be so hard to recover from! I hope this surgery and antibiotics cures the infection. And he is able to have another hip replacement once the infection is gone.

His cat is beautiful!

Today they took him back into surgery to remove the antibiotic beads that they placed in there Tuesday. Im not sure how things went b/c I cant seem to get in touch with my mom. She doesnt answer her cell phone.
But yesturday the doctor talked to my mom and told her that there is a higher chance that my dad might walk again...
Its still a small chance but hey... ill take that over no chance at all!!
I just want to thank everyone that has kept my poppybear in their prayers.

I know you have made a difference.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like great news! Your Mom probably has to turn her cellphone off while she is in the hospital, so don't worry too much about having trouble getting in touch.

We thought he was doing ok until yesturday he started hallucinating (not sure how its spelled)
He says stuff like .. We need to help him b/c a swirm of bees are chasing him. Also, he seems to think that his teacup chiuahua is there with him. He tells her stuff like... come on Gypsey... come here to daddy. And he said that she has a new hair do.
That is only a small sample of things he has been saying.
I thought maybe they had him on morphine for the pain but they dont. They had him on demoral. They took that off but he is even worse this morning!!!

I try to always hide my feelings.Like I am so tough. But I couldnt help but just burst out this morning when he got on the phone to talk to me and he thought I was someone else!!!

The doctor is on his way to see him.
I just thought I would post this so I could ask anyone who might know what it could be. I was thinking maybe all the stress and depression he was under finally just made him snap.
Does anyone have any opinions?

Please everyone pray for him!! PLEASE!! His name is Ricky. And he is my poppy bear. I cant live w/ o my dad.
