Hi everyone. I have a 2 1/2 yr. old cat named Bogart. We just moved into a new place, and I think he stepped into some rocks that were in the carpet (maybe the maintenance people tracked them in). I took him to the vet this morning, who gave me some Amoxil Drops to be taken orally, and some ointment to swipe across the inside of his paws. I noticed ever since I brought him back from the vet, he's been pretty lethargic and sleeping most of the day (they gave him the first dose of the drops). Usually when someone is at home, he is all over us looking for attention, not sleeping. Also, when I watch him sleep, it seems like he is taking deep, quick breaths; his chest lifts very quickly when he inhales. I tried looking around the web to find side effects, but the whole "rapid breathing, loss of appetite" thing is kind of vague. Has anyone given this medication to their cat, and if so, what kind of behavior changes did you notice? I would appreciate any help; I don't want to wait until the a.m. to call the vet as I'm a little worried. Thank you!!!
