Latly my cat Marty has started to lick my wool blanket at night. My friend said that Siamese cats have a tendency to do stuff like that. Is she right and why does he keep doing this?

Sarah,

Cats that suckle are usually taken (weaned)from their mother too early. I have a Siamese mix and she doesn't suckle wool, so I don't know if that is normal in the Siamese breed.

I have read somewhere that Siamese cats tend to do the wool sucking thing more than other cats. It was a book by a famous behaviorist (forgot his name) and he said that from his experience Siamese cats are more prone to wool sucking.

Dr. Dodman is the one who wrote about it in The Cat Who Cried For Help. Very good book!

I notice Tigger will knead the blanket and put her nose way deep into it. She does this for long periods of time! The other night I actually saw her bite at the blanket!!
