From what I've gathered around here they make noises we can't hear. My Mooch makes 'silent meows' all the time. Everyone says that to them it is a perfectly normal noise, it's just us human's cant hear them.

Hmmm...that I don't know. I don't know how long it's been since she was sick, but maybe her little voice isn't quite healed yet. I hope she is all better.

Hmmm, I don't know about that. I know Belle sometimes meows, and there's no sound, but she CAN meow (BELIEVE ME!!!), but I don't know about that situation.
I hope all goes well!

Hey, why don't you bring some of that sickness over here so my stud cat can get it. He meows so loud at night in his stud enclosure that the neighbors are complaining. No one can sleep. I was thinking I might get him de-meowed if there is such a thing

Sometimes my kitten will meow so much she gets horse. We always joke that her meowbox is broken! She's just very talkative. Annabelle, my adult cat, just rarely makes noises when she meows.

can u remember a day in the recent past in which your kitty meowed alot for an extended period of time? could just be inflammated voice box, nothing serious just temporary. it took my cat 2 weeks to get over her hoarse/no meow situation. just make sure your kitty is eating/drinking/behaving normaly and im 99% sure in a week or 2 he/she will be fine.

my cat only meows (as best as a maine coone can =D) early in the morning. she wants everyone to play with her instead of sleep. as soon as i get up to play with her, she goes to sleep!!

she didnt meow (unless she was scared) until she was about 8 mos old
