2 boxes 6 cats....on the main floor, the box is about the size of a child's sandbox.
1 jumbo sized, normal box upstairs.

Currently we have one in the lounge room for a kitten we had returned, Alf.

One in Lonestars pen in the lounge.

One in Benja's pen in the cat room.

And two in the cat room.

I have twelve litter pans- the extra large ones are outside in the enclosure and the others are inside the house.

I have 1 big litterbox for both cats.. I clean it twice a day so that everything stays clean and there is nearly no smell. The carpeted box I bought from Dr. Fosters is great, since the cats are in the rooms with me, it make it look much better too then having a littler box out in the open.. plus, they love to lay and play on it!

Here's a picture..

Yea, right in the front. It's also nice if you have dogs.. that .. um.. have a pallet for kitty liter. It's a small enough hole for the cats to get in and out, and pretty hard for a dogs head to get in. I can send you a better pic of the front, if you are interested in seeing it.

The box is made of cedar, so the first few days it stunk like a mix between a rotting tree and new carpet... but then the smell goes away.
The inside has a vinal liner, that holds on with thick velcrow all around the door and the sides (hope I spelled those right.) That is removable and washable. It's super easy to clean, which is why I love it! There are 2 different sizes, I got the smaller one, but there is a bigger one that fits the self cleaning littler box. I think it was like $100-$150, but it's well worth it.

That's a nice concept. It definitely gives a cat who doesn't like the standard "hooded" box more room to move. I know Charlotte prefers a non-hooded litter box. I think this might be a happy medium between hooded and non-hooded, despite the litter box is enclosed.

I have two cats and three litter boxes. Two domed and one regular one. All three are large sized according the manufacturer by what they think is large and what I think is large is two different things. One of these days I'm going to find a large enough litter box.

I'm considering cutting down to two though. They only use two at anytime and the third just sits around collecting dust.

I have two, for four cats. That works fine for us (they always use the boxes without any problems, so as far as I can tell they do not mind). Given that I have one for every two cats, I think one per cat is totally fine, especially if you're not having any problems (not broke, don't fix it, and all that stuff).

1 monster and 1 extra-large potty box... I live in a studio apartment and there is no place to put another litter box... although I'm almost convinced my Oliver wants to use mommy's potty since I catch him up on the seat a lot, and he's AMAZED to see it flush!

I have four boxes for three cats. Van Ness calls them "extra giant." I call them large. I'm home most of the time so I clean them whenever I see they've been used, usually three times a day. One of my cats, Red Cat, is a clean freak. He will not use a box that hasn't been cleaned since last use if he has a slave around to clean it. And he has a BIG voice to inform me it needs cleaning, so I do it rather than listen to him! I also scrub the box and replace with fresh litter once a week.

Well I did it I brought my little girl home from the shelter on Thursday night. It was a difficult decision as I'm in a one bed room apartment, but I couldn't resist her. This is the last kitty for a LONG time. Now I've got four; Levi, Jordan, Isaac & my little girl who I'm still trying to name.
