My boyfriend is moving in with this guy who said cats are only ok if he gets them declawed. Ian and I have made it very clear that declawing Sirius and Lupin is completely out of the question.

So my question is...has anyone used Soft Paws? How do you like them? Do they work?

Actually, Soft Paws and Soft Claws are two different brands of the same type of nail cover.

I swear by nail caps now! hahaha
... once the cat is used to them, he's got no problem when you occasionally have to replace them. The first few times they need to be applied, however, you may need someone to help hold the cat while you apply. My Oliver almost nearly destroyed my bedroom door while he was staying with my parents
and I am completely against declawing
... I would DEFINITELY suggest nail caps!
Good luck!
