Ever since Trav and I got back from vacation, Oscar has been crying non-stop! He never used to do this before we left. The only time he would cry is when he was hungry or we were in the kitchen. It is starting to get really frustrating
We are getting tired or hearing the cries all day. It's not a "I'm in pain" cry. It's just the type he wouold normally do as I said before. It's kind of getting on our nerves and we don't know what to do! He's been extra affectionate, like headbutts and kisses since we got home but I assume that's because he missed us. Can someone help me out and tell me why he has been crying so much?

Thanks!

Courtney

How long have you been back from vacation? Have you ruled out medical? Could be that - only a vet would be able to tell.

It could also be he missed you so much, he is afraid that you will leave him again and wants to show how much he really loves you so you won't do it again.

I'm starting to think that could be it because now when we leave to go to the grocery store or something, when we come home, he is laying at the top of the stairs waiting for us.

We were gone for a week and one fo my co-workers and her daughter came over everyday to take care of him and play with him.

I would take him to the vet. Sometimes we read their signs wrong, and while you were gone, it is possible he stressed himself out to the point where he is ill. I would rather rule out a health issue first, before looking further into the cause-

It's most likly because he missed you and wants to gain back the lost attention time.

That's what I'm thinking. He is eating, drinking and going potty as normal.

Our kitties (and any others I've had, really) do that, too. I think it's him basically whining that you were gone for so long. Ours did it for about the first week after we got back (especially if we had the gall to leave for anyplace else, like go to the store or take our daughter to school in the morning). He should be totally back to normal and fine within a couple weeks. If not, a trip to the vet wouldn't be a bad idea.

Thanks for all your advice! We have only been back since Saturday so I will wait a few more days and see what happens.
