Last sunday under a shed behind my job, some cats birthed a litter of kittens, i dont know when the kittens were born, but the kittens would eat the food we would put out there for them. I ended up taking one of the kittens home with me. for the past week its been very active running around meowing alot and always chasing after me, i think the cat is around 4 to 8 weeks old im not sure, its is very small, its been eating cat food and some tuna alot and drinking water, learned to use its litter box ect. Yesterday its poop was kind of runny, today when i came home my parents had the cat downstairs, and said it had been laying around almost all day, i took it upstairs and it had to poop and the poop was runny with spots of blood in it, it ate earlier and now its laying in my lap, if i put it on the floor and walk away from it, it will slowly walk over to me, and if i pick it up it still meows and purrs sometimes, but when i put it down in my lap or on the floor next to me, it just lays there like it has no energy with its eyes half open and its head resting on the floor, right now its in my lap laying down with its head tilted to the size with its eyes half open, what is wrong with this cat, it looks like its dead until you make a noise or pick it up then it shoots back up and looks okay for the moment... what could be wrong with it, im planning on taking it to the vet tomarrow morning if it makes it through the night

take it into the vet ASAP thats the only thing you can do. what they might do is fliuds and meds depending on the diagnosis.

Get the baby in to see the vet and request that they run a fecal analysis for intestinal parasites as well as coccidia and giardia. Usually bloody soft stools are an indication of this. But your vet will be able to tell you for certain as well as give the baby the proper treatment and supportive care. He will probably also suggest the start of the normal kitten vaccines - the one you want now is the Feline Rhintotracitis, Calici Virus and Panleukopenia, usually called a 3-in-1. He might also suggest that you test for the normal feline viruses as well.

You should also ask him when he would be comfortable scheduling his spay/neuter procedure - some vets will perform early spay/neuter, others like to wait until the cat is about 6 months in age.

Best of luck and please let us know how the baby progresses - by the way, do you know baby's gender and what did you decide upon for a name?

Mirah had runny stools, blood after pooing, and wasn't very active either, and the vet said it was most likely intestinal parasites, too, and dewormed her, and gave her antibiotics to help her bum area. She's all better now.

the cat seems to be a little better today then yesterday as yesterday it could harly move or walk, it seems to have a little more strength. the cat has lost weight and feels skinnier, the poop is still runny but now it is a dark dark brown color instead of the light yellow color? what does that mean, ive been giving it alot of water, sometimes kitty milk and atleast once a day glucose water. hopefully it gets better soon

Layla went throught the exact same thing before she went to the vet. When we took her, we were told she had worm's and they gave us a wormer to use on her twice a day until it was gone. Within a day she was right back on her feet, and within a week she wasn't even the kitten we adopted. Best wishes you to you and Jinx.

Has this kitten seen a vet? If not, you need to make certain she does. Update us after you've taken this poor baby in to see her vet.
