Wow, that is a must read. I especially love how the neighbor's cat saved the day, while their dog and cat snoozed!

That cat is a hero!

Don't forget, their cat was oblivious to it as well as their dog.

What a fantastic story and what a wonderful cat! I have heard that heavy smoke during a fire will cause people to continue sleeping instead of waking up. So...maybe the familys' pets were actually being overcome by smoke inhalation????

So much for the people who say pets alert their human families because that's the only way the cats themselves can escape. I know that's not true. Jamie is 6, and twice he's woken me up when a tile company catercorner behind our house was broken into (he even made the local newspaper).
