Spent the day in the emergency room

This morning during my shower I started to have severe pains in my chest. It was to the point I called my husband and he actually quickly came because he said I had "that tone" of something being wrong.

On a scale of 1-10 - the pain was a 8. I (stubbornly) didn't want to go to the hospital. Hubby however called the dr;s office and they told him to take me IMMEDIATELY to the hospital. Two things that suprise me on this - one he volunatirly called the dr ( ) and two that he actually listend to what they said!

So off to the ER we go. We get there and he tells them I am having chest pains.... I've never been moved so fast through and ER!

After X-rays, CT scans, blood tests, EKG thingy and a few things I don't remember - they proclaimed my heart OK - but that I had "thicking of the lower esophagus" due to acid reflux.

A refelif! I never realized that "heartburn" could hurt so dang much! 7 hours of waiting - my hubby came through like a champ - he hates waiting and he hates when I am sick.

Even though I already knew this, it drove it home: Life is short. Enjoy it while you can.

Yikes, that is so scary! I'm glad to hear your heart is fine Hope you get some good meds for the reflux.

That is not a fun way to spend your day but I am happy to hear it is not serious. It is still better to be overly cautious than not cautious enough tho!! Good for your husband. Take care of yourself!

Susie, he took me to the only one we knew about in the area: Robinson's in Revenna. They were top notch in my book for this!

Oh, Tracey, what a scare! Give your dh a big hug from me, he did a great job of getting you the care you needed!

My dh suffers from acid reflux. It took about 6 months to get the right medications, and for him to change his diet. Actually, he still struggles with the diet! But there is treatment that works, to get rid of your pain!

That must have been incredibly scary, Tracey! Good for you and your hubby for following Dr's orders and getting to the ED so quickly! I'm just so thankful you're ok!
