We found a momma cat and kitten in our back yard last night. We brought the kitten inside. Mom wouldn't let us approach, so we left food for her. We aren't sure how old the kitten is. She still has blue eyes and is eating canned food mixed with KMR from a spoon. She weighs one pound and can walk but is a little unsteady. She isn't afraid of us at all. Can anyone tell us how old she could be? Also, when will she need her first shots? And when can she be wormed? We haven't found any fleas on her, does she need Frontline and is she old enough for it?
We'd like to TNR mom. We're in Southern New Jersey. Can anyone suggest a free or very low cost spay in our area? Thanks!

Also, kitten hasn't pooped since we've had her, almost 24 hours. I've been rubbing her abdomen and genitals with a warm, damp paper towel before and after feeding. Should I be concerned yet?

Since you have many questions...I would suggest you take this kitten into a vet. They would be able to tell you her age and when she will need shots.
