Well everyone everywhere try to stay safe this weekend. I sit right outside of
Pensacola Florida and we are boarding up and stocking food. Everyone here is going crazy. My parents cat passed away yesterday and he was taking her body to the vet this morning and the lines at the vet for boarding animals was so long they were lined up in the street. Two guys got in a pushing match and started fighting. The police were called in and everything was in such disorder. What is about people and Hurricanes. We have run out of gas at the gas stations. Its wild. Well I'm heading home to tie down anything that could fly. Stay Safe!!!

KittenKiya's Clan certainly wishes the very best for our friends in Florida and along the Gulf Coast. These storms are not nice and our furry babies get so scared. I hope you all have enough warning to get inland and also have a safe place for your babies.

I know that last year, some motels, hotels were allowing refugees to take their animals with them into the hotels. I hope the same and more kindness is shown to whoever needs it this time around.

I will be watching the weather, but unable to be online this weekend. Bless you all and stay safe, from:

KittenKiya, Princess Alexis, Pete, Diddo, Daddy Cat, Mother Cat, Princess, Sicorro, Alyssa, Junior, Patches, Valerie Cat and Mr Gray.

I'm on the East coast of FL, so unless the path changes, we will be spared of this one. To all of you who are closer, "hunker down". Here we go again... Snostrap, my heart is with you, hon. Y'all are in my prayers.
What a week!

So far they are saying the path is going up towards Alabama, but I just have a bad feeling. Though it might be paranoia!

Yeah... that's where I'm hoping I got my "bad feeling" from.... being nailed by three hurricanes can kinda give one that paranoia, can't it?

Arrrggghhh, I'm starting to stress about this now to the point that I've managed to make myself get a headache (I can only imagine what Florida and coastal people go through
!) Sunny usually works overtime on Saturdays and I'm considering telling him to skip it this weekend so he can stay at home and help me get everything up off the floor in the shop/utility room and the outbuilding. We've got to get the bikes and lawn tractor into the outbuilding, tie stuff down, make sure everything "floatable" is put up. We may park the car at our neighbor across the street as she's a bit higher than us. Need to go get some non-perishable stuff, water, batteries, etc., although I don't know why, but our electricity hardly ever goes out, or not for long. Perhaps we're on the same trunk as the hospital that's about 4-5 miles from here.

Sigh. I love hurricane season (not!).

I'm in a bad spot. If it does hit Apalachicola, that's just south of where I am... very very bad news considering we just bought our first house here in October!

I'd wish it further West, but my sister's in Pensacola... I don't know who to be worried more for!

If we have to evacuate we'll have a tough time... 10 birds and two cats, two cars. I'm finishing up a home inventory tonight just in case.

I hope eveyone fairs well. I just want to point out that they really don't know where it is going to go just yet. Once it gets in the Gulf, it could go crazy. Personally, I think it will turn more west towards us.
Originally, it was forcasted to skirt FL but since it has moved a little more offshore, I'm not making any decisions until it hits the Gulf.

The best thing to do right now is just to prepare but do not panic.
We'll all get through this......everyone stay safe.

After what us Floridians went through last year (2 hurricanes in one month, here) maybe it's o.k. for us to be a little lighthearted about it-what else can you do? It beats the heck out of deing depressed and/or afraid.

In my original post I had a #3 about my whereabouts if I weren't on. I said:

"1) I got hit, and I don't have power, so I can't get online.

2) I got hit, and I'm too busy doing clean up....

3) I got hit, and I'm dead.
"

That's what Hissy said about the joke I made.

I got hit by three last year.
Let's hope this hurricane season isn't as bad!
