ive got a 15 yr old male russian blue,today hes started making meowing noises then keeps licking his bottom,normall when i stroke him his tail goes straight up (u know how they do it) but he wont do it now,hes not consipated,uses a litter tray.hes eating well n drinking normally.ill try n get him into the vets 2morrow (but hes very busy) any one got any ideas?? ive made him up a cosy box to sleep in,and ill keep the younger cats away so he can rest. other than that what can i do??forgot to add he hasnt got worms.

Is he peeing ok? If he is peeing ok (make sure) then maybe he has an impacted anal gland which may be hurting him. An anal gland is a scent glant that is located right inside the edge of the anus. Normally when a cat poops the glands get emptied but sometimes the scent material in them is too thick to be emptied normaly and the gland becomes impacted and will eventially burst. I would try and get an appointment with the vet.
