One of my good friends from high school, is from London...and most of her family lives there. They are almost all ok, except for her brother, Everton. He is the manager for the London Transport. He's missing. She's very upset right now, please say lots of prayers. This is just giving me chills because it is so much like 9/11. I can't help but to cry right now.
Sending lots of }}}VIBES{{{ that your friend's brother is safe and well

How do you try to calm someone when you don't actually know the answer?!
Just try to reassure her that the bombing is done...tell her to find friends and family and just go be with them. I hope that helps a little ... that's exactly how I felt on 9/11. We just wanted to know it was over...yet we were all so scared. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Just a news update on where the fatalities happened

Metropolitan Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Brian Paddick confirmed 33 people had died in the blasts on the Underground.

He said there were 21 confirmed fatalities following the blast at 0856 BST in a tunnel between King's Cross and Russell Square.

There were seven confirmed deaths after a blast in a blast at 0851 BST 100 yards into a tunnel from Liverpool Street station. The train was either a Central Line or Circle Line train.

And at 0917 BST an explosion on a train coming into Edgware Road underground station blew a hole through a wall onto another train in an adjoining platform.

Three trains were thought to be involved and there were five confirmed deaths so far, Mr Paddick said.

He said it was not yet known how many died in the bus blast at 0947 at the junction of Upper Woburn Square and Tavistock Place.

I'll try, but it is difficult when she is reading other peoples views about how appropriate a follow up attack would be here! I wouldn't have expected someone so young to be reading this!

Thank you for your advice though!

The helicopters have started again... theres 3 circling above and 1 keeps flying about in the distance... I hope it's just TV crews reporting and that nothing else has happened.

Gilly theres still going to be chaos even though the transports back on.

I heard the horrible news when I woke up this morning, but this is the first chance I've had to get online. I'm glad to hear that our London TCSers so far seem to be safe.

I don't think that there's anyone in the US who hears this news and doesn't immediately think back to 9/11...so we truly understand how scary and awful everything is now. But, as others here have said, the US pulled together and pulled through, and I have no doubt that the Britians will as well. London and the Brits have pulled through so many bad times in the past...you're definitely survivors!

My heart and thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in the UK. God bless you and keep you safe.
