Nicky my company was going to be doing some work at Stanstead Airport late tonight, but the airport security has just rang me after having an emergency meeting to say we couldn't go in until further notice.
Sarah they probably will because after 9/11 anythings possible with these idiots?!
Wow, this is insane! I've been reading all the news coverage here in Canada as well. What the hell are wrong with people!!! No wonder I have cats, I wouldn't want to bring children into the world the way it is.

The airports are okay - boss was meant to be flying back from Hamburg to Heathrow. But as the Heathrow & Gatwick Express are both closed (and he can't get home from LHR) he has decided to stay in Hamburg the night. I called a cab company to see what the situ is - London black cabs, Computer Cab etc. all phone lines are engaged. I was going to book a cab now to see if it could take me home - it costs about £35 though but work can pay.

They just broadcasted the news conference. The officials there are asking all workers to carefully plan and check their routes home and make their way home safely. The busses are not running nor are the subways- there was no mention of airports yet- They are going to examine all the trains, then get drivers on them and move them to locations as soon as possible- this is so insane-

I tried the Rathbone Hotel this morning - they are all fully booked! ppl have hung about after Wimbledon and Live8 so London is chocca! My cousin lives in Maida Vale and offered me a room at his flat but I don't really want to walk all the way there when I don't know the way. Simultaneously - first in Liverpool St, then Aldgate... can't remember the rest though.
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed 33 fatalities, and said there were fatalities at the fourth site. Buses are supposed to start running again this afternoon/evening.
my bf's dad is a train driver but luckily it was his day off today.
