Well, Graycie is a few days over seven weeks old now, and last night she finally decided she would eat canned cat food and she ate half of a 3 oz can and had some more this morning. Is it normal of them to almost stop drinking formula "cold turkey" when they start eating solids? She acts like she isn't even INTERESTED in formula any more since she started on solids. As I speak she is tearing around the living room like she is chasing an invisible mouse. If it moves she jumps on it and bites it. If it thinks about moving she slaps it and makes it move, and THEN pounes on it and bites it. LOL!

I just don't know what to do with her sometimes. It looks like she has diarrhea again. She had it for like two days in a row and her poor rear looked sore, and she seemed to be ok today but now tonight her rear looks sore again. Should I be worried about this? She started eating canned food yesterday and it didn't seem to bother her or give her diarrhea, is this normal?

Guess I shoulda been a little more clear. This isn't uncontrollable diarrhea or anything, and she has been drinking some formula and today she tried a little water on her own. She has been playing happily all day. So I am guessing she just doesn't feel good from switching foods and it upset her tummy. Now she just wants to sleep. When she is acting like this she seems to breath a little hard once in a while. Or that could just be because she was purring when I was petting her.

Just watch her ... if the diarrhea persists or if she becomes dehydrated, then take her on in to see her vet. But it sounds like the classic case of diarrhea caused by the food change.

Maybe you can help her tummy adjust by mixing in some of the formula with the wet food, so it's familiar.
