My cats have always had thier own room, since the babies were born it's just Missy and the kittens in there. Now they are 8 weeks old and momma doesn't want to stay in there all night with them, she only gave them milk for 2 mins today and they eat solid food.
Would it be okay for the babies to stay alone in the room overnight?
She plays and grooms them all day so i think she just wants a break at night.

I would think that should be ok....however, make sure your momma cat cannot get out of the house and get pregnant again. You may even want to schedule her spay if you haven't already set that appt. up.

Can you make a some sort of barrier that the kittens cannot get over/under/around but Missy can and then leave the door open? At least that way, she can be in there should she choose to be but the kittens would still be contained to that room.

Thanks i'm going to try a barrier and see how it goes.

Yes, momma has a spay appointment in 2 weeks and there's no way she can get outside, we have double doors so it's hard for them to escape. she has never been outside and shows no desire to go out even when she was in heat.
Also my male has now been neutered.
