Will cat grass make a cat throw up? I know that when Meeko and Esmeralda used to be allowed outside at my parents' house and would eat grass, they would then through up - does cat grass have the same effect? Thanks!

Cat grass is usually just wheat grass that is grown quickly and easily for cats, who use it for medicinal purposes to help them rid their stomachs of hairballs etc. So the answer is yes, that is what it is for.

Cat grass is used to help their digestive system. Similar to how ruffage with humans help them.

It can help them cough up a hairball or make it easier to have a bowel movement. Either is a good thing for them.

Thanks for caring to ask about your concerns for your kitty. It shows you are a true cat lover!

Juniper, do you grow the grass yourself? I cannever get those darn catgrass kits to work. The One time i managed to get them to sprout was when i chucked the seeds in a pot after they refused to sprout in the container.

Sorry, I'm no help, I bought it at the fruit market down the block, already grown! If you can't grow it, though, I think you can buy it already grown at a lot of pet stores.

Hi,

If I were you I'd check out the grass on this webiste www.poopsiecat.com.

It grows easily and my babies love it. It's also less expensive to buy seeds and then go out and get your own potting soil and container.

It'll only stay fresh for about a week or two, so you'll have to keep replanting, but it only takes me like 5 minutes.
