Could you all take a minute and send out some good vibes for the cats of our house? Last Thursday I lost one of Isabell's 4 week old foster babies. Sunday I lost Isabell and the four remaining foster babies. Monday our 5 week old orphan was put down. It wasn't until yesterday at the emergency vet that my worst fears were confirmed, I am dealing with feline distemper. The vet who treated the first kitten didn't tell me what it was that I was dealing with. Today Yoda, Princess Laia and Luke, three of Isabell's kittens, are bearly hanging in there. We are force feeding them and hoping for the best but expecting the worst. The fourth kitten hasn't show any signs yet. One of my resident cat's has also come down with the symptoms and things aren't looking good for her either. When I can not break down I will post a message to those I have lost.

I'm so sorry you are going through this.
Mega vibes to you and your furbabies. I'm wishing for the board magic to produce a miracle. I've seen it happen many times before.

I am so sorry. This is a nightmare! I lost Garfield's brother Odie to distemper a few days after I got them, but with prompt medical care Garfield survived. So did their mother Tigger, but she needed blood transfusions.

My kits (including Festus) were affected, but since they had received several distemper vaccines already, they recovered quickly. I hope this is true of some of your cats as well.

My heart truly goes out to you. I know you must be feeling overwhelmed right now. Just remember, you started fostering to help, and if you look at the big picture, you are helping. And by staying with you, you have given these kits a warm loving home. I am sorry you are hurting so badly right now. I am praying for full recovery of each kitten, as well as every cat in your house. And for strength for you to carry on, Regina!

The Rescue Rainbow Bridge

The young pup and the older dog lay on the shaded sweet grass watching the reunions. Sometimes a man, sometimes a woman, sometimes a whole family would approach the Rainbow Bridge.

The young pup playfully nipped at the older one. "Look! Something wonderful is happening!" The older dog stood up and barked. "Quickly. Get over to the path."

"But that's not my owner, " whined the pup, but he did as he was told. thousands of pets surged forward as a figure in white walked on the path toward The Bridge.

As the glowing figure passed each animal, that animal bowed its head in love and respect. The figure finally approached The Bridge and was met by a menagerie of joyous animals.

Together, they all walked over The Bridge and disappeared.

The young pup was still in awe. "Was that an angel?" he whispered.

"No son," The older dog replied. "That was more than an angel. That was a person who worked for rescue."

Yes, plenty of board vibes on the way for your little ones, and candles are lit for Isabel & her little ones who journey on the Way. Bless you all your efforts, and I'll pray for encouragement & respite for you in your heroic efforts. About 20 years ago, I brought home a litter of kittens that were trapped in a wall at my job; they had distemper & infected my other rescues (at that time, I couldn't afford the shots for the cats and rescue groups were unheard of). I did save a few, but my vet had me give them a water solution with a little homemade chicken broth added (I think that it was a primitive electrolyte-replacer, homemade with a pinch of baking soda & salt & a teeny bit of sugar), not food. It is heartwrenching, these desperate cases; I sincerely wish that I could somehow help you....Take Care, Susan

Oh no Regina!
You and your furfamily are in my thoughts and prayers.
My heart aches for you and what you must be going through right now. I hope no more of your babies succumb to this horrible condition.

Please keep the good vibes coming! As of this morning none of the other cats have gotten sick. Of the the four that were sick, Luke is starting to eat on his own! Yoda promptly climbed up to my shoulder this morning! And Princess Laia tried to escape the bathroom they are confined too. Yoda and Laia are somewhat interested in food but not enough yet to eat it. Tuna and water tonight! There seems to be a little progess in the right direction! I know they are not out of the woods but they are still with me. I am force feeding pedialyte, broth and albon for their diarrehea. I think that when Luke saw the syringe again he decided he was getting tired of it and headed for his water bowl to drink! I lost Gris, my older cat last night, but I am beginning to believe that she didn't have what the kittens have.

Condolences on losing Gris.
You are doing an outstanding job of carrying on for the benefit of your other sick little ones! Your courage is an inspiration to us all! Thank you for the update - I know that you must be exhausted by now, but yours was the first post that I looked for when I logged on this a.m....You're in my thoughts & prayers, Susan
