Hi all,
I cannot believe it, but August 3rd will be me and Bradley's 2-year anniversary
. But, of course, gift anxiety is setting in!
I'm sort of out of ideas for gifts for him. I'm going to frame his captain's license ( http://www.captainsgear.com/generic....ERWRJPX0?pid=5 ....if you go to that link and scroll down to Custom License Frame, you'll see it), but I'd like to do something else as well, in about the $50 price range.
His major interests are hunting and fishing (he's SUCH a Southern boy
). Does anyone have any good gift ideas? I'm open to anything at this point!
Thanks guys. TCS-ers are the best

Thanks for the idea
We are HOPEFULLY (fingers crossed
) going to go to Hilton Head for that following weekend, so I'll pay for a nice night out if we do.
I just want to give him something that'll really zing him, ya know?

What if you gave him some fly fishing lessons? I know that is becoming more popular over here. I will think about it for a while and get back to you if I come up with something.

I think that is SUCH an excellent idea! Unfortunately (or fortunately for him I guess) he is a pro at just about every type of fishing imaginable- including fly fishing!
He's already been on quite a few fly fishing trips.

I swear, this boy is impossible to buy gifts for!!!

I'm boring but how about a gift certificate to a cool hunting/fishing store. Does any of his stuff need replacing??? Neil neither hunts nor fishes so I'm kind of useless for exact things to buy!!

I'm not very imaginative, but I think cotton signifies 2nd anniversary (like silver is 25th, gold is fiftieth, etc.)

Now if someone could just think up a really cool gift that involves cotton

Go to Fredrick's or Victoria's Secret and spend $50. Wear it under your clothes when you go out to that nice dinner and drop him a few mini-peeks.
That will zing him!

I am really into giving people a "good time" like a picnic all set up andthen pamper them. Or to a concert or something. I don't like giving people more "stuff" anymore.

Maybe a gift card to his fave fishing store? To make it interesting, hide it somewhere
and make him search for it

Wow, thanks y'all for the great ideas!!!

I like the ideas of gift certificates to hunting/fishing stores....he LIVES at Bass Pro Shop and I am always way over my head when I try to buy him things there, so that is definitely a good idea....Alexa, I like your idea about cotton....maybe I can get him some nice fishing shirts (there are special shirts you wear deep-sea fishing that have all sorts of pockets and stuff)...Rigel, tequila's a nice idea
, but if I got him a fancy bottle of liquor, it'd have to be his fave- Crown Royale! And Heidi, lol....something new for "him" from Victoria Secret's is a given!

Has anyone ever given a gift to a guy that REALLY won them over? If so, what was it?

It seems like you have quite a few ideas now!

For my boyfriends, I make a kind of scrap book of us together, photos, sayings, experiences etc - then you can update it with each anniversary/birthday/event etc. The boyfriends I have made these for seem to really love them and still have them now!

I don't mean boyfriends in the plural - at the same time - way!

LOL, that'd be a lot of work to make several scrapbooks if you were juggling multiple boyfriends at one time, Sarah!

I did an awesome scrapbook for my horrible ex. It was actually written like a Dr. Seuss story (I was "Amy Lou Who") but the "illustrations" were pictures of us. It was awesome, but it was neater for me than for him. Bradley is not the sentimental type at all- the only framed pictures he owns are of deers that he's shot
.

I'd be pretty busy, hey?!
Especially having to go on dates with them all too!

Your ex's scrapbook sounds great! Did he like it?

Oh dear, Bradley doesn't really like pretty pictures then?!

Maybe you could buy him something that involves you teaching him? Then you are kind of part of the present!

You know what Sarah?
I like that idea of being able to be INVOLVED in his gift!
Do you have any suggestions along those lines??

Hmmm?!
What can you do that he can't?! Say you can rock climb, take him to an indoor climbing wall and teach him! Maybe?! I'm just warming up my thinking cap!

Or you could take a lesson together - something that neither of you can do! Then you share the experience and have a laugh at the same time!

Oooh Sarah, you really got me thinking....maybe some exotic-style cooking lessons? He LOVES to cook, so it may be fun to take a class together to learn how to cook some random, exotic foods. The only problem will be finding a day that we can both take the class since he always works weekends

Pleased to be of help!

Cooking sounds like a great idea and then you can both cook it again when you are at home!

Could you see if there are any evening classes - or maybe make him take the day off for the surprise!
