Finally got Kaz, my foster, booked in to be spayed next week, but i am a bit unsure whether the age we thought is right. Have just checked dates, she was taken to the rescue on thw 29th Apr, i got her on the 26 May, so they had had her a month and she hadnt come into season, but they thought she was 8 months old. It took her until the 14 June to come into season, so 6 weeks to come into season, and she only came into season once. Is this normal? with their reckoning she would be 10 months old now, am going to get the vet to check her. Blackie seemed to practically be constantly in season, she was the only unspayed cat i have had.

Cats' cycles are irregular. Just mention it to the vet when you take her in. I'm sure she'll be fine.

She is actually a foster and was found on the street so we didnt know whether she had been spayed or not (she was estimated at 8 months old). She also has a patch of fur on her left side that is thinner than the rest of her fur, it is the right size, shape and place for a spay, so i was 99% sure she had been done till she came into season!!! The only reason it has taken two weeks is because of trying to get a deal sorted with my vet and then them being really busy, otherwise she would have been straight up!! She was taken out on the harness and lead, but she hated it and ran back inside (how she knew which house was mine amazes me) but i would never risk letting her out without that, i dont let any of my fosters have outdoor access unless on a lead due to not having a garden.
