Everytime I give my cat his antibiotics

He goes straight to sleep. He is getting better, but he goes into a coughing fit right after I give him his meds.

Is this normal?

Also: Can your cat get your sick if it sneezes on you numerous times? I know it sounds silly, but I am currently sick like a dog (no pun!)

No, you can't catch your cat's cold, and he can't catch yours.

I don't think the antibiotics are the reason he goes to sleep. Sleeping is part of his recuperation.
Joji has feline asthma so she sneezes a lot and most on me. No effect on my health.

You CANNOT catch a cold from your kitten (just to reinforce what was already said - there are few illnesses that can be transmitted to you from your kitty).

He is l=in all liklihood sleeping so that he can get better - his immune system is helping him and the antibiotics are helping it and by extension him. They dould add to his fatigue but do not make him sleepy.

I hope the little guy feels better soon!!

He could also just be sleeping off the stress. Giving meds is never fun for them, or for us, and after cats get stressed out they sleep. Antibiotics can cause stomach upset and constipation. Is he alert all other times of the day and sleeping normally at night?
