neutured cat

can any one tell me if this is normal i have a 2yr old male cat, i now foster and have a cat at the moment her kittens went last week she is now in heat and my male cat is mating her he was neuterd almost a yr ago i didnt think once they had been done they still had the feelings to do this plaese can someone tell me if this is normal

I believe it's normal. Sisters dog does it all the time eventhough he is neutered as well. It's a dominance thing. My parents dog isn't spayed and when she was in heat he went after her like there is no tomorrow

If the male was allowed to breed prior to being nutured, he will continue the mating behavior

no hes never mated we didnt let him out till he was neutered

It is still normal, they will go through the motions, just no babies will come from it.

I've had experience with this as well. When we got our male, Hobbes, neutered, we didn't get his sister done at the same time (she wasn't fully matured yet, whereas he matured early). Once she went into heat, we thought things should be fine as far as him still wanting to mount her, but a couple days into heat, we looked over to find him on top! It was quite a surprise! We just chalked it up to Sunny (our little female) somehow convincing him to go for it...and it being a natural reaction to her being in heat. Thank goodness nothing will come of it! )

Sounds like it is time for your foster to be spayed.

Baby Kitty was neutered over a year ago, before he showed any signs of wanting to mate. Since then I catch him from time to time trying to mount my female cat Sammy. When he sees I'm giving her attention or when he comes out of a good sleep he will let out a quick scream and grab her by the scruff but she doesn't tolerate it at all. It's annoying because I don't want him going to the point of actually "doing" anything but so far he seems a bit baffled by his own behavior. He is clueless as to what he should do after biting her neck.

I can't help but laugh at him..poor fella but yea, your kitty's behavior is normal
