Do you use the firefox browser? What do you think of it?
I am thinking about trying it but would like some feedback from peeps who are already or have used it & if you stopped using it , Why did you? Thanks for your response.

I use Netscape 7.2 which is based on Mozilla. I did download Mozilla's Firefox a few weeks ago and I think it's an improved update from it's prior version. I know there are several members here that have used Firefox and love it. I think Wellingtoncats is one of them.

I've used Firefox for about a year and it is my preferred browser.
I just don't trust IE. You can have tabbed pages instead of opening up a multitude windows.

There are a number of web sites which don't always behave properly with it. But there is an extension (an add-on) called IEView that allows you to right-click on a page and open it in IE. There is also a Google bar extension if you use it.

But I've been fortunate that all of the financial sites I use work well with it as does this forum.

absolutely LOVE Firefox...i would never go back to IE if you paid me. I love the popup blocker, and the tabbed windows. There are a few pages that won't open properly in it...but it's rare. I highly recommend Firefox..5 stars!!

I love Firefox! The only time when I use IE instead is when I have to post something on the Moodle site for class (it's another open source software program for education) because it's hard to copy and paste. Otherwise I only use Firefox. I also love the cat theme! My fiance uses Linux as his operating system and really just uses open source stuff. We both use Open Office. I just like the ethics behind open source software, plus you won't get nearly as many popups and spyware with Firefox.

We've been using Firefox for a couple years now...and we LOVE it! We don't have NEARLY the amount of problems from getting viruses we had before, and it's actually nice to be able to use a feature that allows you to use a new tab in the same window, instead of having to open a new one. I really like Mozilla Firefox. TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!!)

I suggest Opera. It's better than Firefox, and allows you to view webpages that Mozilla browsers can't view properly. It alos protects you from Virus'. Opera is also a very fast browser.

I'll second Hope's approval of Opera, though I can't comment firsthand on Firefox. I hear good things about it, but haven't found any reason to leave Opera. One thing is for certain, I use IE only when I don't have a choice.

Yep, I do on my windows pc.

On my Mac I use Safari.

Firefox is better than IE but I do not know if it is the best browser available. I tried Opera and it crashed on me all the time so I do like Firefox. Plus I can change themes and add neat extensions to it.

I have not had a problem viewing websites with firefox since they did their most recent upgrade. It is very rare.

I love the theme changes - I have the green cats or green eye cats or something, I cant remember the name. it is so cute!

I have used Firefox exclusively for about a year and a half now, and before that Mozilla and Netscape Navigator. I run Linux thus I've been spared the dubious privilege of running the Microsoft abomination. I hear good things about Opera, but I'm very happy with Firefox. I think it was a great idea to split up the functionality of Navigator into separate programs. Not all of us want to be saddled with running a huge email/Usenet management system and a complete Web development system just to have a graphical Web browser.

Well, I know for a fact that you can't view my website properly on the Mozilla Browser. You might be able to look at it, but you miss A LOT of what is written into the page. Apparently, Mozilla requires a lot of "special coding" to be able to view certain thing. Coding, I don't know. Even if I could code some of the stuff in to work, not everything will work on Mozilla. The cool thing about Opera, is that it will let you view a website properly, like IE, but it isn't IE, nor is it even remotely connected to IE. It has the safetly of the Mozilla browser, with the funtionality of the IE browser. It's a small program, and not large and/or cumbersome like Netscape, and even IE. As far as I'm concerned Mozilla browsers are inferior, if you want to view things properly However, if you're not in to viewing a pretty webpage, and basically only want to look at text on the net, then I guess it doesn't matter. I tried Firefox, because everyone was praising it, and I found it to be just exactly like Netscape.

On the recommendation of my friend's brother (a hacker extraordinaire, who actually attends hacker conventions), we switched to Mozilla Firefox a few months back. If this guy recommends a product that strongly, we listen. It's more flexible than the Microsoft and Netscape versions with a lot more security.

I've been thinking about it and thanks to this thread I decided to go ahead and try it. So far I really like it. One of my online heroes, Kim Komando , recommended it too and has some useful tips about customizing on her website.

Oh, and I'm really diggin' the cat themed skin!

I LOVE Firefox, I have used it on my old PC and my new Mac and I have never had a problem with the browser itself, popups, or spyware. I pretty much swear by this browser.

I use Firefox and have been quite happy with it. I love that I can tab different websites! Also, there seems to be less cookies popping up than explorer. I used to use the regular mozilla version, and I find them quite similar. I haven't used explorer in over 2 years, and I don't miss it one bit. I am happy that more webpages are becoming more mozilla/ firefox friendly! I seem to hardly have anything that tells me that I must open a page using explorer.

We've use it for about 2 months and we love it. Wish we would have known about it a long time ago.
