Zoey is currently on premium edges kitten ( she is about 16 months) she is just starting to fill out so I need to get her on a good adult food....

My trouble is she needs high calorie , this is why my not a kitten os on kitten food but I know that is not good for her for much longer...

She was on Nutros Natural choice indoor ( not high enough in calories ), Feline caviar( good but nearly idetical to nutros max and natural choice mixed), tried Innovas EVO ( just flat didnt work)...

I lloked at premium edges adult foods and they contain things I dont like ....

I am looking for high protein with moderate fat... would prefer one to one meat to grain ratio, no corn ( corn glutan is fine) , no wheat(she's allergic) , no cellulose , no by products ...

I am willing to pay up to 20 bucks for a 6lb bag... I have access to many brands but usually buy at the big pet stores or feed stores ..

Any help??? anyone else have a high energy kitty??

I am so sorry...I can not find a single food that meets all your parameters. I hope if someone out there does know of one, they will post it for you soon!

I had thought about natural choice in the oceanfish flavor but I am not sure if that would be too low... 33 protein and 19 fat

this is so easy witha dog ... everyone makes a high energy formula...

If it meets all your other requirements, why not...just add a fat source/and or increase amt. of wet?

back to dinner...

The Felidae is wheat and corn free, but it has more than one protein source:

Chicken Meal, Turkey Meal, Brown Rice, Lamb Meal, Chicken Fat, (Preserved with Mixed Tocopherols and Rosemary Extract), Menhaden Fish Meal, Eggs, Flax Seed Meal, Sun Cured Alfalfa Meal, Sunflower Oil, Lecithin, Nutritional Yeast, Natural Flavors, Linoleic Acid, Rosemary Extract, Sage Extract, Amaranth, DL Methionine, Taurine, Kelp, Cranberry Meal, Apple Meal, Probiotics, (Freeze Dried Streptococcus Faecium Fermentation Product, Freeze Dried Lactobacillus Acidophilus Fermentation Product), Vitamins A, D-Activated Animal Sterol Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, Vitamin B12, Riboflavin, Niacin, Choline Chloride, Calcium Pantothenate, Folic Acid, Pyridoxine-Hydrochloride, Thiamin, Biotin, Amino Acid Chelated Minerals, Zinc, Manganese, Iron, Copper, Cobalt, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite, Bacillus Subtilis, Yeast Culture, Yucca Schidigera Extract.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guaranteed Analysis - Formulated with Low PH
Crude Protein (min.) 32.00 % Omega-3 Fatty Acids (min.) .75 %
Crude Fat (min.) 20.00 % Linoleic Acid (min.) 3.70 %
Crude Fiber (max.) 2.50 % Magnesium (max.) .095 %
Moisture (max.) 9.00 % Taurine (min.) .20 %
Omega-6 Fatty Acids (min.) 3.75 % Ash (min.) 5.50 %
Digestive Enzymes (min.) 1.50 %

If the one protein-one carbohydrate is the focus, I would look at Natural Balance Venison and Green Pea. It has a lower fat content, but like Hissy said, you can add some fat or some wet food.

Sorry about that...I'm running on very little sleep, since one of my kitties hadn't been eating and I stayed up late force feeding him.

Wysong canned (except for the "just meat" line by Wysong) has garlic in it, which Sharky, like myself, does not feed to their cats.
