My 6 kittens (most of them) have something in their poo. It looks almost like a fig newton (sorry). But that is the only way I know how to explain it. Its not runny nor is it hard. It just seems to have alot of little things in it. Like I said it kinda like a fig newton. Like seeds or something.

I mentioned this to the lady who gave them their shots this morning at the vets and she said that it must just be the food. I give them Purina Kitten food.

Also they are on Ammoxocillon antibiotic for a cat cold. Could this be it?
Also they have been wormed. They go for their second set of worming in 1 more week.

Well I was hoping no one fussed me out for that one. Lots of people like fig newtons ya know.
And Im sure the last thing they want to be reading is that their favorite snack looks like my kittens poo.

Yes, maybe. What I am seeing is smaller than rice though. Just little itty pieces. Lots though. if thats what it is .... how would they have gotten them? they dont go outside. But I also learned that all cats are born with worms. Is that true?

Okay, in all seriousness it could very well be tape worm but even in kittens they look more like grains of rice rather than seeds. I suggest you see a vet just to be sure. Oh, and take stool samples with you.

OK.. I have been playing detective and noticed it in Lilos too. Same size. Must be the food.
I am going to take a couple of samples to the vets tomorrow just incase.

Could I take a sample from today and it still be testable tomorrow?

It could be that all are infected with tapeworm, and kittens got it from Lilo.

It is so small though. Does that still mean its tapeworm? The pieces that I see are like the same size as a piece of clumping litter.
Really small.

I guess I will find out for sure tomorrow. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks, Sarah

What comes out in poop is tapeworm fragments. Their size is described to be the same as a size of a grain of rice.
