My cat has been having (by has been, I mean for appx. 8 months) a very green, mucus-like substance in his eyes. Sometimes clear, watery stuff drips almost like he's crying, but they're very big drops. Underneath Tommy's eyes, he also has crust and every day I have to clean out his eyes for him. Does anyone know what this is? I can't go to the Vet until I know it is needed. Thank you!

I really do think you should go to the vet. It may prevent him from going blind.

Your vet can do a culture of what is being drained and then prescribe medication...as you can tell, after 8 months, this isn't going to clear up on it's own, and yes, it does need medical treatment.

He almost certainly needs antibiotics, internally and maybe topically. After 8 months, you really do need to go to the vet. He may be in pain or discomfort too, even if he is not showing it.
