I thought I would share this scary picture that my builder sent me yesterday of the French house with its wall off! Once they have rebuilt the inner front wall they will make an outer wall from the original stones that have saved. Then a new roof of black slate tiles. I am going there in two weeks and will take some pix of my own. But I think it will be some time before I can safely invite guests!

I think you are going to have the most gorgeous house in all of France
I can't wait to see your pics of Dushka, Ellie, and sweet little Persil running around in there

Look at your central air conditioning!

Yes, it gets scary. But with old houses you need to go down to the "bones' to make sure there are no problems. Can you tell I like to watch those home improvement shows?

It'll surprise you how quickly the house will be put back together. We bought a half-timbered house that was over 500 years old, and gutted it. I thought it would take a couple of years to get it livable, since my husband and father-in-law did almost all the work themselves, but it was ready for tenants in just over a year.
Your house is going to be lovely!

I know, and I really do trust the guys I've got working on it. It is just so difficult being over here when the work is happening four countries away!
