Do you know your great grandparents first names?

Grandparents-yes, Great grandparents, definitely not. None of them were alive when I was born.

None of them were alive when I was born, but I do know one or two of them through stories my parents or grandparents had told me.

yes, because they have been there all my life... well, my grandad died 2 years ago, but my grandma is still alive and she is 97

I think so...but I have no idea how to spell them. They are not American names at all. I've always refered to them by the Italin or Poilsh name for Grandma and Grandpa.

Though they had all died before I was born, they were -
Paternal - Charity and Julius, Larkin and Effie
Maternal - George and Mary, Theodore and Rhoda

I even know all my great-great-grandparents' names.

Yes Jan I do..........my great grandparents names were Elizabeth and John, and Tom and Sarah.

Infact i dont even know my whole family anymore on my dads side
and i only know that my great grandfather on my mums side is samuel mc nicholl? and he moved to new zeland right after my grandfather was born Because he was in the war, and my great grandmother thought he was dead so went and found a new man had a child and broke up.. and when my great grandfather came back and saw the child he left her
(apparently i dont know the full story)

hmm.... Great - so i should have eight, right? Let me see if I can do it from memory... Sarah and Cecil, Ed and Louise, Charles and Florence, Henry and Mary YEAA!!! I did it!!

Nope. I only ever really knew one grandparent, and great-grandparents were never mentioned.

Yup! My Great Grandparents on my Mums side are very much still alive! Their names are Alec & Shirley. My great grandmother on my Dads side died in 1997, but her name was Ula but I can never her husbands name, but he died when my Nana was only a tot.

Off-hand, I know my maternal grandmother's parents' names: Kame and Nabe. I could cheat and look up the rest...my family tree is saved on my computer.

I never new my great grandparents, the same as another member my great grandparents was not mentioned when I was growing up.. Now because of this thread I am really wondering why
