I bought a new rug for my dining room the other day - I thought it was cool - sent a picture to my mom, and she claims it is the ugliest rug she has ever seen.
So, now I'm polling everyone I know
, is this the ugliest rug ever?

Don't worry, I won't be offended at all! I like it, so I'm not bothered if anyone else doesn't, I'm just curious following my mom's comment - so be brutally honest.

I'm sad. You didn't give us the option of "That rug rocks!
Where'd you buy it?!?!?!" on your poll! I love it!!!

I think its cute! I find a lot of the things that I like that are very modern my parents don't like as well--that good old generation gap!

Wow, now that I wasn't expecting
, I thought 'it's okay' was the best I could hope for!
I bought it at IKEA - on sale, too!
(Perhaps a sign that others have felt more like my mom and they haven't been able to sell them
).

Well?!, it's not what i would pick, BUT!, it's very what do they call it?, retro?!

Now, it would send me dizzy if i came in to it after i've had a bit too much to drink

But like you say you like it and thats what counts!

I really like it actually.... It would look great in my family room which we have converted into a bar/ gameroom type area.

I like it! We moved and I am decorating this house completely different from my last house. My mother HATES it and takes every opportunity to tell me so. That's just the way some Moms are!

THAT WAS MY THOUGHT!!!! I LOVE IT for that reason, though!

It's psychadelic, cool, different, colorful, full of personality, a conversation piece, and it looks "happy".

My mom said the same thing! She claims I will have to turn it over when she visits so that she isn't permanently dizzy!

Gah!
Of course I tend to be very traditional in my decorating choices, my idea of heaven is 18th century chippendale. I thought I was really being bold when I painted my kitchen burgundy
! So you can take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I like it too.. and I love IKEA. It's fun because it's not plain and boring. It has character and brightens up the room. Nice choice!

It's alright.....I personally would put it in a more personal space then a dining room, like perhaps a bedroom, but that's just my taste. Maybe your mom just has a more conservative decorating taste than you?

Oh yeah, the one thing I don't like myself - the cat tree and the rug clash sooooo badly! I failed to take that into consideration in the store, and now it's too late, but they are definitely a bit painful together!
