Ok, so...I am about to wrap up my summer 9-week classes!
Another 6 hours on the chart!
As of July 20th, I'll have only 8 more classes to take, one being my internship that will count as one of the classes. Now, my minor is in Art and for me to fullfill this obligation I have to do atleast 5 hours a week working or volunteering somewhere. I thought about some places such as galleries and also working with an Art teacher (since that's what I want to do anyway). The only drawback is that I also have a full-time job from 9-6pm and go to school from 7-10pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have to have a total of 120 hours and I can start anytime after I have been approved to do whatever it is that I decide to do. I can start as early as August at this point. If I do about 5 hours a week, I can get finished in February, which would be great so I would only have to focus my attention on my final 3 classes before I graduate. Do any of you have any ideas what else I could do for an internship (my minor is in Art, so it has to relate to that). Thanks!

How about doing something at a children's art workshop? I think most of those are run on saturdays.

Hmm, maybe something in the art department at your local news station since they are open 24/7. Not sure if you're into graphic/web design or more of a hands on painting/drawing type art/exhibit. I know local art and craft stores teach classes...you could intern with an Art teacher there. Good Luck!

Congratulations on being almost COMPLETE with ur courses!!! I know that feeling since I am taking my LAST course this semester (online).

You should check these links out- they are links to internships- you can search by location, by the field you want to do an internship in, etc.

http://internships.wetfeet.com/home.asp- go to the right corner and u'll see a small box saying find a job then u can go from there. At least it might give u more ideas of what u can do for ur internship.

More links- http://internship-usa.com/

Hope these helps... Good luck and let us know what u've decided to do for ur internship!

Yes, I would suggest either a museum and/or art gallery. I actually did an internship at a museum library/archives, and it was amazing! It's the best job I've had to date.

Have you considered contacting some smaller, independent art galleries? I'm sure many would enjoy the free help, and it's likely you would have a different, more involved experience, working at a small gallery.

Thanks for the links, Pamela. I'll check them out!

vespacat--I have about 3-4 different small galleries in the area that I could check out. Those are on my list also. This lady I work with is actually an artisit and is doing a art summer course in Colorado right now, so I'm waiting for her to get back this week so I can ask her for more advice. I think the best bet is to do art with children, since I want to become an art teacher.
