hi, it's me again. it's not an emergency exactly. now i have news about another kitten, George Jr. He has been panting i think. that's what it looks like. he opens his mouth a lot. it doesn't look very normal.
any idea's of what it might be? he is 5 days old so i need to know if we should take him to a vet. Thanks
Natascha

There is not always someone on the forums who has the answer to your questions. This is a message board, and if your concerns are that great, please contact your vet.

Under a stack of blueberry waffles.
One of my kittens would do that from time to time, but only for a few seconds each time (he was just trying to get a better whiff of the strange "person smell", i suppose. If it is briefly and only when a person/stranger is near him, I would not worry too much about it. If it is almost constant and looks as if it he's struggling to breathe, I'd call a vet. Of course, just to be on the safe side, I'd still call one.

I did address this in your PM, but it is a normal occurance to see a young kitten do this - they are either trying to hiss at you *grin* or they are using their fleman gland to get a better whiff of you! It is nothing to worry about.
