Hey all!

I am here looking for some help, please!

MY partner and i have just moved house. We previously lived in my family home, 5 people, a very busy household! We have now moved and it's just the two of us. We have two cats, both from the pound one 18months old and one 7 months old We moved approx a week ago and kitties have appeared a little skitzy but ok. The youngest kitten, Bacardi has in the last 24 hrs become a little more unsettled. We have had some heavy rainfall and small storms, being in Australia in the middle of the drought I doubt he has ever experienced a storm before and seemed scared by the thunder.

Today he has started to 'act out' behaviouraly. This morning I walked into our second bathroom to find one of his big kitty poop presents onthe floor. This is VERY unlike him as neither cat ever go outside their tray.

I tried to find him to make sure he was OK and found him hiding in a cupboard, looking distressed. I gave him a cuddle (no punishment!) and showed him again where the litter tray was (Thinkin he may be confused from the move, however he has been using the same tray for almost a week).

He spent the rest of the morning hiding and being unusually quiet.

Later this afternoon I found he had vomited on our bedroom carpet (eep!)

Once again my first reaction was to find him and reassure him that it was OK. He was hiding under a bed in a spare room. The usual 'entice' to get him out from under the bed (kitty biccies!) did not work. HE wouldn't budge. So I let him rest and passed him his fave toy under the bed

Does this sound like it could be the stress of moving or the storm? I have provided him with his favorite things and allowed him to hide under the bed if he wants to.

At what stage should I start disciplining him for his messes? And is there anything I can do/give him to calm him down more? Our other cat is very independent and seems to have handled the move well but I miss my cuddly little bacardi. My partner and I go back to work next week and it would break my heart to leave a sad kitty at home.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I just found another poopy present
this one runnier than the first. Poor baby. I want to cuddle him, but he's just not interested. Sulking.

Please get this cat to the vet rather quickly. Between the stress of the move, and the stress of the storm, this little one has more than likely become ill. He is pooping on the floor to get your attention. Thankfully, you are not one of those people who believe that litter box misses should be punished. This could be a cry for help because he does not feel well and needs a vet to evaluate him.

Thaniks for your quick reply hissy

I called the local vet (its after business hours here) He said to keep an eye on him, and we'll take him in first thing. They want a 'fecal sample'

Thanks again!
