Nancy Grace......

Nancy Grace is this women on CNN, who has her own show where she interviews people having to do with violent crimes (possibly other subjects, but this is just from wthe episodes I've seen) and gets insanely upset and beligerent to her guests. She or the show, whatever, also likes to turn down the volume on the guests when they start to make valid points that she doesn't agree with.

Does anyone else just hate this woman? She gets so angry, she looks homicidal. Not that her topics shouldn't be upsetting......however, she's the most closed-minded, biased journalist I've EVER seen. She drives me nuts.
And, even when I agree with her basic point, I CANNOT STAND HER.

Example. Last night they were talking about Karla Holmolka's upcoming release, which is a topic that's at the forefront of the minds of most of the people in this area. I remember when those girls went missing. I remember when they found those tapes. I totally agree that Holmolka is a serial killer that will most likely reoffend and should be kept in prison. Unfortunately, she served the time she was given through a deal with the prosecution (she testified against Bernardo and got only 12 years), so she's going to be release next week. I agree that the prosecution botched the case when they didn't revoke the deal upon discovery of those tapes.

However, something about the way Grace was talking about this just pissed me off. It's like she's getting angry about it because it'll make a good show and she can yell at her guests (and full-out cut them off while they're talking, which is just ridiculous. Why invite them on if you're not even going to hear them out???). I just don't feel like she's actually emotionally invested in this case. And she made some comment about how she's sure Holmolka will be heading to New York, to justify her anger.....because, what, it's not important if she's around here as long as she doesn't get to the big apple? :censor::censor::censor:?? She yelled at the new defense attourny because the old one sat on the tapes for a year. Yeah, that sucks, but he COULDN'T have disclosed that knowledge or any judge would have tossed the evidence out of court. Plus, Bernardo could have claimed that he had unfit council and demanded a retrial. Who does that help??? As a former prosecutor, you'd think Grace would know that, but apparently not. Okay, I'm done on this topic, cuz I don't want this to become a Holmolka/Bernardo thread.

Anyway, Grace has shown the same disregard for people with other opinions than her in every episode of the show I've seen. She gets this look on her face that looks like she'd scratch your eyes out in a second if you got within her reach. Freak! Ok, done my rant. I expect there'll be a few Nancy Grace fans on this site. I'd just like to know what you see in her?

Hmm - we get "CNN International", which I regularly watch, but I don't recall ever seeing Nancy Grace. It may be that her stuff doesn't "make" the international broadcasts. I do wonder about CNN's "legal experts" sometimes -van Susteran (sp ?) doesn't impress me, and neither does Toobin.

If I rember right, she's got a new show on CNN Headline News. I haven't watched her. Something about her eyes just didn't make me want to hear anything she had to say.

I haven't watched Greta va Susteran either (she's now with Fox), except for her coverage on the Natalee Holoway case because it's EVERYWHERE. I will say this about her...she makes a point of trying to stay objective and not putting her opinion into at least that case, even when she's pressed to do so.

I haven't seen Nancy Grace lately, but I used to watch her on Court TV. I really didn't have an opinion either way about her back then, but if I get the chance I'll check her out.

Its funny, I just had this conversation with Ugaimes about Judge Judy. We both don't like her, but watch her anyway. For some reason I like to get mad at her and argue to the TV screen. Is that why you continue to watch Nancy Grace?

I love Nancy Grace. She treats "conservitives" the same was O'Reily treats "Liberals". I think it's great. I agree with her about 60% of the time. Her POV of the Aburan athorities is right on the money, she asks the questions many are thinking, and her POV of the Jackson verdict was right on, of course everyone had the same POV on that. I think she's great!!!!!

If you hate her so much, why do you keep watching her?

I also think she is rude to the guests a lot of times, but if Simon on American Idol made his career out of being rude and obnoxious, why couldn't she?

I don't like her, what she rambles about is pure emotion and not the law. In the Scott Peterson case, she was so emotional and convinced that he was guilty (which I thought so too) but she's supposed to be objective and look at the laws and does not.

She stand on her emotion and not the laws.

LOL Actually, I've never made it through more than 10 minutes of an episode. Usually it's about 2 and a half. I tend to check out the topic, then get too annoyed to actually watch. As for why I bother to tune in at all, I think it's a similar phenomenon to people slowing down to look at the scene of a car crash........it's disturbing and I don't really WANT to see it, yet I'm inexplicably drawn to it.....
