My kitties seem to be doing better now, diarrhoea is fading, starting to harden up now, and seem to weigh a bit more.

I want to weigh them today to compare them to the charts, but do I weigh them before or after feeding? I'd imagine the weight would be different

Another thing, just wondering, I know what aspiration is, and I don't actually put pressure on the syringe to feed them, so there is no risk of suddenly squirting a load of milk into their lungs, I let them suck it themselves at their own pace... but 2 of them suck it very very fast, to the point occasionally some comes out their nose. Is this bad?

Also, what would be signs of aspiration?

Thanks

Signs of aspiration:
Choking
Gagging
Stop breathing
Stunned look on face

I don't think that milk coming out of the nose is a very good sign. They may suck very fast, but they shouldn't eat that fast. You might need to slow them down. As for the weighing, I don't really think it'd matter whether or not you weight them before or after... it wouldn't make that much of a difference. When you take them to the vet, they weigh them, and it doesn't matter if they just ate or not.

thanks, I had an idea the signs were like that but wanted to be sure

I'v tried to slow them but it is hard to actually keep the syringe back while they suck without pulling it backwards, instead of just stopping it.
The vet said they are the hungriest little kittens she's ever met

Is there anything you can do if they start to aspirate, so I'll know, if it happens?
