Does anyone have a favourite pop culture icon they actually respect?
Through all the media sensationalism, who do you think comes off looking like a true winner with mega talent?

I think Gwen Stefani ROCKS!

She is a smart, savvy, fun attractive, hip and "older" woman who provides a FAR superior, respectable and realistic role model for young girls today.

Next? Fess up!!!

I really love Jennifer Aniston. She has great comedic timing, which is SO difficult, and even though the paparazzi continually tries to put her personal life on display she doesn't allow them to get through to her. She stayed out of the spotlight and didn't talk about the whole mess with Brad, and throughout the years she's managed to hold onto her integrity through everything. She seems to be a well-grounded person who holds firmly to her beliefs. I have a lot of respect for her.

I really like Alicia Keys. She's classy, sophisticated, talented and gorgeous. I really like the fact that she's a knockout and she's decided not to "oversex" her image and keep her dignity. She is sexy without being trashy or slutty. She focuses attention on her music, not her body

Oh I am big fans of both Gwen AND Alicia. They are such wonderful role models for young girls. Not to mention Gwen's last video prominently featured a marching band, which was great for all of us self-professed band geeks

Another favorite pop culture icon of mine is Homer Simpson. He is the bumbling everyman that everyone the world over recognizes. I think D'oh is the worldwide word for "oops" now

I really like Jennifer Aniston as well. I always thought she was great on Friends and she carries herself and deals with different situations with a lot of diginty (sp?), which is more than I can say for most "celebrities" out there!

I am a professional marching band geek! I just finished my 11th year of marching band! (6 in high school, 5 in college!) Any way.....

I like queen latifa. She is bigger than a lot of people in the spotlight, but she doesnt try to change to fit anyone elses idea of beauty, she is beautiful being who she is. Gotta love that.

Well im a huge John Frusciante fan. . . when i was 12 i discovered him, & i'll say he's one of the few people that influenced my life in a huge way. I wouldn't be the person i am had i not discovered him.
Lately it's all about Wanderlei Silva. . .not sure if he's considered "pop culture" though. . .

I LOVE Drew Barrymore, although I hate that she is friends with Cameron Diaz (cause i really dislike Cameron).
but she seems really sweet, down to earth, loves animals, is truly honest and appreciative of life.
