Hey there,
I was playing around with my Faerie deck today for the first time in AGES and I was wondering if anyone else played with/read cards?
I'm very much a beginner at this, but the cards do seem to come up with accurate readings for the most part....other times I look at them and say "what the?".
I think the faeries were more interested in Chester than in me today, he hopped up on the bed and scattered the remains of my desk across the mattress....makes sense, he is much more whimsical than I am, afterall. Tee hee!

I have never read cards but I've always been interested in that sort of thing. I'd actually like to be able to sit down and learn how to read cards one of these days but finding the time is the hard part...
Is it hard to learn?

So far it's not too bad. You sort of need a deck that you really like and a good "how to" book. My book came with my cards, and I think that's often the case. It seems to be a case of intuition and some would add connection with other pieces of the universe.
What my book stresses is that it's supposed to be for fun, and that the future isn't set in stone, but that the cards will reflect the way it is moving right now.

Under the cats, mostly.
I have a deck of angel cards that I play with from time to time. Every time I do I always pull Archangel Michael. Seeing as he's the angel of protection and strength and whatnot, I draw a lot of encouragement from that
I love to think that someone is watching over me. I may not know what, but the thought is always comforting.

I have cards that I used to read. I haven't done it in quite a while, since I kind of got spooked by a really weird incident.

I went through a phase where my friend/roomie had a good set of tarot cards I liked and I had a good book, so I played with them a lot at that time. My friend -and her cards- moved out and I've never bothered looking for a better set than I have. Mine are about half the size they should be, the art is weird, and I just plain don't like 'em!!!

I read them in addition to the analyzing of dreams...which is a whole other thread.

Yeah, as far as I know, you have to feel a connection with your cards and really like them for them to work at their best. My friend who's really into this stuff has a tonne of decks, but only REALLY uses one.

I have been known to, my deck of choice is the Tarot of the Cat People, it's a regular Major/Minor Arcana deck, but the artwork is exquisite, much better than the traditional Arthurian deck.

I did a search, and you're right, they certainly seem to be very unique cards. The artwork is what draws me to my cards too. The artist is the same person who did "good faeries, bad faeries" and I just adore his depictions!
Yours remind me of being a bit medieval for some reason
