Vacation season is here and I am DYING to go somewhere tropical. We probably won't get to take a vacation this summer, but I can daydream, right??? My favorite vacation spot is the north shore of Kauai, Hawaii. It's just like paradise--lush, beautiful mountains, breathtaking coastlines, warm inviting waters with plenty of snorkelling opportunities, the smell of plumeria in the air...Where is your favorite vacation spot? Oh, and add your favorite link to it so we can all "visit"!!

Wanna go to Kauai, Hawaii??????

OK, I'm on the plane to Kauai right now! I want to go to Wailua Falls
. It just looks breathtaking!

Though it's not exactly tropical per say, my favorite summer vacation destination has without a doubt been Spain. www.spain.info.

Those places look like such fun guys! There's been a couple of places that I've gone that I would count as my favorite. So I guess I'll share both with you!

First, and the easiest and cheapest, is Marathon Key! It's wonderful there with great laidback attitudes, amazing fishing, snorkeling, water sports, and fish restaurants! I had such a blast there and would love to go back!!

The next is St. Maarten (or St. Martin, depending on which side of the island you're on) in the US Virgin Islands!! I loved it so much tehre because it was less touristy than St. Thomas, was beautifully landscaped with big hills and sparkling water, and has really interesting history!

Let's all go!

That's what I'd call traveling in style, Susan!

Katherine, the Keys is next on my list of places to vacation in. Bradley's been once before (great deep-sea fishing) so hopefully I can fenagle a trip out of him soon to the Keys
. Did you eat any Key lime pie when you were there? :crools:

We actually did eat Key Lime Pie. We took a day and went the little bit further down to Key West and walked around Duval St.. While we were doing that we saw a bakery who claimed to have the best Key Lime Pie in the world, so of course we stopped in. It was DELICIOUS! We Floridians love our Key Lime!
It's really a great vacation, and can be fairly cheap. We stayed in our own cottage that only cost $55/night!!!! It was just incredible. We spent much of our time at Sombrero Beach, did the best snorkel trip I've ever been on (complete with 40 pound grouper, barracudas, an eel, and countless tropical fish), had a great time in Key West, and ate at the most wonderful mom and pop seafood restaurant ever! It was a blast!!! I hope you guys get to go!

Amy--Spain looks like a wonderful vacation destination!! I definitely want to go one day now!!

Katherine--I love the FL Keys!! St Maartin looks breathtaking!!

Susan--I've ALWAYS wanted to go to Fiji. Shy promised me we could go first class in a few years when we sell the house and have enough disposable income to stay in one of those overwater bungalows!! (Shy will only make long trips like that if we fly first class
He THINKS he needs more leg room than he actually does, he's only 5'8"

Go Amy, go!

Actually, I think the guy who owned it may have been shut down for tax evasion. I think since he never paid his taxes, he passed that benefit along to his patrons allowing such a cheap stay!!!
Now it's owned by someone else, but is still relatively cheap I think. Learned about all that when Tiff and her boyfriend tried to book at the same place and discovered the higher price, that's what the new owner told her!

We bought a pie when we went on the cruise and had it for desert for the rest of the trip.
That has been my favorite treat since I was little.

Now...I think we'll need a fundraiser of some kind for these airfares:
Round-Trip Price: USD 1320.00+

Air New Zealand
offers connecting service
(from MCO, Orlando International)

We should probably start collecting now!
