BTK Describes Murders

This man is disgusting. How can someone be SO cold and matter of fact while discussing exactly how he murdered?!?!

If you have not already seen it (or part of it) on the news, there are links to watch and hear.

I have only limited knowledge of the US Justice System, so I would like to ask what may happen to him, since he pleaded guilty? Will this get him a "easier" sentence?

Usually if you plead guilty, you get a lighter sentence. Yeah makes sense to me... NOT...

He is supposedly going to get life sentences for each murder he's admitted to.

What baffles me is how the defense lawyers wanted to plead "insanity", so he would be treated & released, or at least, just get a slap on the wrist. I really have to wonder about a defense lawyer who would take a man like this, who admits to doing all these things "just because" (NOT from being crazy or sick, but just for fun), and try to get him off the charges.

It is possible to get a lighter sentence, but it does not always happen that way. It depends on the judge. Sometimes in the case of murder(s), it is the difference between life without parole or the death penalty. I heard BTK is dying anyway, of cancer I believe. It may or may not be accurate.

I definitely believe that he is insane. That is how he can describe the murders so matter-of-factly. He has completely disassociated himself from the horrendous crimes that he committed. That said, I still think he should never again see the light of day.

What a sick, sick man!

Ashley, the lighter sentencing is usually when the plea is entered with a plea agreement from the prosecution, i.e. You plead guilty to this and then testify against this other guy and we'll request a lesser sentence from the judge, something like that. There wasn't a plea agreement in this case, so the prosecution will still ask for the highest sentence, in this case Life on all 10 counts. He isn't eligible for the death penalty because all of the murders took place when Kansas didn't have the death penalty in place (I believe they reinstated it in 1992, and his last murder was in 1991 - tell me he wasn't cognizent that what he was doing was wrong!) The 1991 murder could hold a 40 year Life sentence, because the sentencing laws were tightened in 1990-91; the other 9 can only hold a 20 year sentence each. Still, he'll die in prison.

Psychologically, of course he's insane. Who could possibly methodically kill 10 people and take sexual pleasure from it and NOT be insane!?!? But, I don't think he's legally insane. He stopped killing when Kansas reinstated the death penalty. Coincidence? I suppose it's possible, but it would certainly be a long shot. The letters he wrote made it very clear that he knew what he was doing was wrong, and he just didn't care or couldn't stop. As the letters go on, the callousness about killing increases. He is obviously intelligent and has certainly done his research on other serial killers.

I'm sorry this happen to society. They are the oneswho suffer the
most. It hard to control myself, You probably call me"psychotic with
sexual perversion hang-up". Where this monster enter my brain I will
never know. But, it here to stay. How does one cure himself? If you
ask for help, that you have killed four people, they will laugh or hit
the panic button and call the cops.

I can't stop so, the monster goes on,and hurtm an well as society.

Society can be thankfull that there are ways for people like me to
relieve myself at time by day dreams of some victim being torture and
being mine. It a big complicated game my friend of the monster play
putting victims number down, follow them, checking up on them, waiting
in the dark, waiting, waiting....the pressure is great and some times
he run the game to his liking. Maybe you can stop him. I can't.
He has already chosen his next victim or victims. I don't who they are
yet. The next day after I read the paper, I will know, but it to late.
Good luck with your hunting.

YOURS, TRULY GUILTILY.
P.S. Since sex criminals do not change their
M.O. or by nature cannot do so, I will not
change mine. The code words for me will be ...
Bind them, Torture them, Kill them, B.T.K., you
see be at it again. They will be on the next
victim.

You don't understand these things because your not underthe influence of factor x. The same thing that made Son of Sam, Jack The Ripper, Havery Glatman, Boston Strangler, Dr. H.H. Holmes Panty Hose Strangler of Florida, Hillside Strangler, Ted of The West Coast and many more infamous character kill.

It seems senseless but we cannot help it, There is no help, no cure, except death or being caught and put away.

I find the newspaper not writing about the poem on Vian unamusing. A little paragraph would have enough. I know it not the news media fault. The Police Chief he keep things quiet.

How many do I have to kill, before I get my name in the paper or some national attention?

I find it horrifying that the news was running clips of this last night. What mind pollution. I for one do not want to hear his details. If someone does, they can seek it out-example the links above. It does not need to be broadcast in the middle of the news, at least they can give warning.

And you know, he had to be enjoying the fact that he can tell the details. Ugh. Lock him away!

That's how I should have stated it, Heidi!

He's "apologized" for it now. But not really. It wasn't his fault. It was a "demon". and "someone should have picked up on it that something wasn't right". But it really wasn't his fault... Typical sociopath.

It is certainly convenient to blame it all on demonic forces. If he truely thought he was possesed by a demon you think he would have gone to an exorcist. He seems like your run of the mill sociopath to me as well.
