Hi Everyone!
My name is Claudia and I found this wonderful site totally by accident. My 6 y/o unspayed kitty, Bandit, has had (forgive me, this is gross) tan vaginal discharge (no odor) pouring out of her all evening. She feels warm to the touch and she just doesn't look right. Her lower abdomen is distended and tender and she is very vocal and affectionate (but not at all aggressive, just clingy). She had an "encounter" with my kitten Pickles back in March, but no kittens resulted. Could this infection have anything to do with this? I'm calling the vet tomorrow first thing. I am very afraid for her right now. Any advice?

I would not wait if I were you, I would call now, this sounds like it could be pyometra and trust me, you do not want to wait if your cat has this

From the description you have given, your girl has an open pyometra which is essentially an infection inside her uterus and she should be seen by a vet ASAP. She will be given IV fluids and antibiotics and once stable, they will spay her.

Best of luck, please post an update when you can.

Bandit is in surgery as we speak! She has a uterine infection, her white cells were sky high and her uterus was enlarged. The doctor said they would call when she came out. I am so relieved words cannot describe it! BUT, they found one other problem with her we weren't aware of. He found a heart murmur, which is nothing in itself, but her father (my sister's Maine Coon Junior) died from HCM and a blood clot in his lung. The condition he died from is heretitary. It bears watching.
